Weird Vibration *Common, Maybe*

Ok I have a 99 Alero with the 2.4. I bought it used with 42,000 miles on the clock and it ran great !
Sometimes when I parked on a hill it would vibrate a little with the emergency brake engaged. It now has 108,000 miles and the vibration problem has gotten worse. Its strange because it only has the "rough Idle" when in drive. I put into N or R and idles fine, but in D, 1,2, and 3 is wants to shake itself apart. I had the plugs & boots changed along with the injectors cleaned and new fuel filter and air filter. I have no CEL light so no hope there in locating the problem. I am thinking its trans related or maybe motor mounts.....

Ne-1 had this issue before ??

Motor mounts sound like a good choice after fuel/spark issues. You can check your mounts with a little help from your friends (like the song goes) . The neutral thing is there is no load on the engine so it doesn't shake, not your trans.

But wouldnt there be a load in Reverse ?

The rotation of the transmission is not the same, you may only notice vibration in the forward gears.
I have about the same milage, but a 5 spd. so I find it difficult to notice a vibration under load, still have not tested with friends.
