Yea THEY'RE back. Someone posted another pair about a month ago. I keep finding more and more.

The best bet is to take a part of teh housing, paint it whatever you want and get those clear gto covers and put it back together (silicone or some other material)

I know theve been out for a while. But auto Dynasty Stopped production of them due to some DOT conflict i believe. I hadn't seen them on ebay for a while until recently.

Ebay removed the product a while back because of fradulent and misleading claims made by Auto Dynasty of their product being DOT approved and accepted. Of course we all know that was poppycock....
But I think they have now changed the wording to imply that the headlight assemblies are intended for "off road use", or some other similar wording. That way Auto Dynasty is covered when buyers of their product find out the product is illegal in some states and they get ticketed.
Ebay must have been recieving complaints about deceptive advertising and outright fraud.

The damn assemblies look great too... but unfortunately some states don't think so.

I dont see why the reflector is so important really. If you cant see the damn car a 3 in reflector isnt going to help much

Not true man, ever pull down a really dark road with cars parked on the side of it? Maybe like a road with alot of trees. I always see the reflectors before the car. Reflectors will reflect your head lights a lot faster then you will be able to see a car in that dark of a situation. Especally if the car happens to be a dark color.

Yea that is true. Ive been driving in the city for most of the past three months so I really dont notice it at all.

Doesnt a white reflector reflect as much white as a orange is the real question I guess.

Bouchie11982
12-05-2006, 08:19 AM
yea but i think the prange would catch someone's attention more then a white. and by law you should have an amber reflector....

That's irrelevant.... it's not the intensity of the reflected light that's of importance, but the color of it... The color of amber must be reflected... And no, having a clear reflector with an amber bulb is still a no-no... After all... what color would be reflected when that vehicle is parked and has no headlights / or parking lights turned on ? Clear / white would be reflected... and in some states (this one anyways..) amber must be reflected in the front of a parked vehicle... red in the rear of the vehicle......period.

Not sure how legal it is in MN, but I was told that there should be no problem with an orange bulb in a clear corner. This is kind of surprising considering the other restrictions MN has, but I was told it should be legal by our school liason cop (after school he still does patrol so he's caught up on laws). I'll probably ask at least one more cop before I do mods like this though.

I think in some states you might be able to have white reflectors, but don't quote me on that.

I am 99% sure that all cars sold in the US must have a corner reflector. If you've seen a vehicle without one, get the make and model and look for a stock photo online, its possible that the owner removed it themself.

That's a good point Katie.... It blows around here in our part of the state because the main highways / interstates are just about at your back door... In my town, there are many state cops patrolling around here too. But I replaced my headlight housings with G.M. stockers; got 'em less than half price on Ebay... I was lucky; still wrapped in a General Motors box.

The only person who ever stopped me was a young lad who asked how I got rid of my DRL's, lol.... So I told him about the tutorial I found on the forum.... I've never seen him since. Wonder if he ever got rid of his ??????
