If it wasnt in albany it wouldnt be the albany meet. :D Its in albany cause ECM hosts the show and ECM is based in albany. If you guys wanted you could host your own Meets anywhere you wanted. Jim, the dates really depend on when we can get the park and when its is the best time for the people planning it to have it. So theres a few factors that go into when the dates are. As katie said above, we have a meeting coming up next month, but i doubt we'll talk dates next month. Look for dates TBA closer to march. But I can promise you the meet wont be held in the winter  I'd say anywhere from end of june to end of august is a possibilty right now.

We are having our next club meeting in January after the holiday hussle and bussle. Number one topic on the list of things to discuss is of course the meet. It is the largest thing we do each and every year so it's alway a topic at each and every meeting.

Also as Joe said it depends greatly on when we can get the location in the park we want. You write down the location you want and date you want it and submit it to them by a given deadline. Chances are decent during the week that you get the location you want. However if someone else requests it on the same day you do it becomes a lottery type drawing. So far we have always had the location and date we requested, however it is possible for us not to get exactally what we want also.

Also have to try and schedule it around other major shows member here might attend so no one has a hard time deciding which to attend. Not to mention scheduling around local events. The one year we almost did it around Saratoga Raceway's famous Travers day at the races. It's 20 minutes north of Albany but hotels all over are typically booked a year in advance and it's a big week up this way. So things like that also become a issue.

As Joe has stated it's because ClubECM hosts the event and they are based out of Albany NY. Not to mention we have had it here the past 4 years and everyone pretty much knows the area and how to get around.

Looks like you have three choices:
1. Road trip
2. Miss the Albany event
3. Host an event near where you live

Yeah. Alot of people have GA meets in their area.

The actual first one we hosted was a one day thing and it was to be in Lake George NY. All these people said they would show up(maybe 18 or so) but it ended up raining all weekend so it was just four of us. Marta, RJ, Leanne and I, and Dan. But we still had fun.

The following year I made sure we had something solid down, registration, dragracing, etc. Ever since then it's been a blast and we all have a great time.

Why didn't I think to take her picture....

They'll let us use the room next year. They go through night clerks like donuts at a cop convention. The red head will either be working days or for another chain.

like a smoke detector.. but it's a particle detector.. it picks up smoke particles in the air created by fire. less prone to false alarms like regular smoke detectors which can go off w/ fake fog, aerosols, etc.... always play it safe w/ the fog machine as they will trip a lot of detectors

OH shit, just thought about this... Matt will be there... perhaps we should stage @ that rib place and have at it? I mean, we'll get official times at the track, but I mean, come on... where's the thrill in getting caught or causing an accident that takes someone's life at the track? LOL j/k

Ehh... *looks at 5 tickets/lawyers fees/upcoming court date that the 95 has helped me earn in 2006*... I'm keeping it to the track. I manage to attract enough trouble without street racing. Even with John's distraction, they'd prolly home in on me in the "pull me over red" coupe. :(

We will know dates in a little over a month.

We have to submit the dates we want to the park by Feb. 1st, and we find out on the 16th what date we got.

Has anyone established the dates for this years meet?

They usually have three GA classes (stock, mild and wild) and a non GA class for trucks, bikes and G6's. :D

There needs to be a FRONT wheel drive G6 class and a REAR wheel drive G6 class.
