PHOTOSHOP!

The wheels in the last photo are a dead give away, DUH!
I remember when it was a primered up SE with a body kit. lol

j/k looking good as usual Paul.

BTW, for those that have never seen it in person, the car looks far more amazing in real life.

thanks everyone!!!!

Yeah those are the AED headlights......the only ones to date. They came as a kit that had to be put together and I had to supply my own lenses....so I chose the clear corner ones.

LOL at TA guy.....should I post a pic of the car from the first GAOC meet?!??!

TA^Guy
12-08-2006, 07:48 PM
Paul if you don't post one I will. lol

I also really enjoy the photo of it in the museum.

Maybe next year for the meet we can put together a group of people intersted to make the little cruise out to the Saratoga Automotive Museum. I'll have to see if they have group rates.

OK here's one from 10/03:

As far as the museum goes....that would be a cool thing to do during the meet. I'm pretty sure they do have some sort of group/club rate but if not it's only $7 a person.

It's a automotive history museum. IIRC they were showing automotive trends through the decades or something.

Don't wanna start anything but, I think a modded Lancer or Civic would have been more representative of the tuner styling and movement. If that's what the museum wanted...even though I really don't like the look of your car, I truly admire the work that you have in to it especially the body and paint. that's honesty!

Im not going to say anything bad but how many Grand Am's do you see that look that good?? The "ricer" scene is huge and Im sure that meseum didnt want that. I mean everywhere you look there is a Civic that has a body kit and fart car on it and think they can go fast. Just my thoughts on it.

just read my edit, but the Ga I love it, but it's not a trialblazer in any movement. the aftermarket for the Ga has nothing extraordinary or inovative(exclusive or that has not been done on a civic). I don't like the tuners but some I belive represent the essence of that trend and deserve merit. eg (eg. yellow and black rx7 in the tokyo drift.)

Do you even know what a 'tuner' is?

Because you are just as bad as these ricers in their civic's calling themselves 'tuners'.

Callaway, Saleen, Street Legal Performance, Guldstraind, Lingenfelter, Hennassy, Grenetelli, Steeda, RUF... Those are 'Tuners', not some pimpled faced kid in a Neon with a turbo and a fart can. These childern that claim they are part of some holy 'tuner' scene are just childrens slapping parts on cars that are sick of being mocked as 'ricers'.

Who are you to say what should be in a museum and what shouldn't be. Are you on the board of directors? Did they ask for your opinion?

BTW, let us know when a historic classic car museum asks to have your car for several months as a display. Trust me, I won't be holding my breath.

Actually....the museum thing was a one time deal.....It was The "KING OF THE CLUBS" EXHIBIT featuring very different cars from very different clubs in the Northeast. It was an honor to have my car in there for 3 months and was the FIRST "tuner" sport compact car to ever be inside the museum.
My car was on display along with:
-1941 Woody Ford once owned by movie star Tyrone Power
-1932 Hot Rod
-1981 Firebird Daytona Pace Car
-1972 Citroen-Maserati
-1987 635CSi
-1958 Covette roadster
-1930 Cadillac Series 353 Coupe
-a Citroen/Maserati ice racer

We we're choosen out of 100's of car's and clubs.

Anyway.....that isn't what this thread was originally about (there is one on here somewhere all about it though).
EDIT: Here's that thread: My Car's in a Museum!!!!!!!!!! (http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39840)

Thanks everyone for the comments......I can't wait for the next GAOC meet!!!!

Your knowledge in auotmoblie anthropology amazes me.......You just seem to portray this authoritative deminer on the subject...
Face it bud, the word "tuner" has become synoymous with "rice". Pop-culture has altered the social meaning of the word. Look at the magazines with the word tuner on it the video games etc..... (midnight club calls scion TC, jetta, and cobalt tuners). You know the context of a term is evolutionary your definition is about 15yrs too late. By the way don't take things so personally it's not your car nor mine. I was mainly questioning the incentive that the museum had to have a GA, maybe it was an all american exhibit??? PS. they're just words...

"auotmoblie anthropology" Thats a good one, however I may pose a "authoritative deminer" on the subject because what I love about automobiles so much is the historic events and stories that lay under the hood or between the doors that most people do not know.

But for someone who walks around calling 'rice this' and 'rice that' promotes and continues to spread the same misinformation and misuse of terms these so called 'ricers' do. However it doesn't surprise me if your taken terms from a child's video game and passing them along as facts about a 'culture'.

ON TOPIC STUFF-

Pauly you know your car is the shiznit, I shouldn't even have to say it :)

my favorite part about this picture is that the diamond plate on the bottom is a false floor where he still has access to the wheel well... which is just a great idea cause, as anyone in the show world knows, you can't just leave your shit laying in, on, or around your car... you gotta hide it

OFF TOPIC-

To honda sux... there's nothing for the ga that is exclusive? HMMM

lets see... AED's body kit is exclusive to the ga... sure the OVERALL design carries to some of their other cars, but that's the point

AED makes the projector headlights out of a high temp epoxy that is fully paintable, adds projectors, adds multicolor capable angel eyes, created tail lights that blink from the inner most light to the outer rings, makes a fully functional ram air hood... There's no way you can get ANY of those parts on a honda from any dealer without modifing them severely.

Most importantly, if you are all about the "detroit" and "muscle" aspect of things, you wouldn't driving a automagic shitty 3.1v6 SE... go get a life and stop shittin on people's threads... That's my job
