car idle moves up and down then stalls

car idle moves up and down then stalls. It's been doing it for a while but without the stalling part. Can I clean the MAF sensors by spraying throttle body cleaner down the air intake or must I absolutely remove the MAF electonic sensor and spray it directly ??? Just a thought but.... isn't this MAF sensor protruding into the air intake shaft ???
Also... I noticed a considerable carbon residue near a little module that bolts on to the top of the engine. this little module has some rubber vacuum type hoses going in & out of it ... what is this little module called ??? Can anyone post a picture of the 3.3L engine for component location discussions and such !!!

could be a couple things. First check all fuses make sure they are good.

second, when you start the car, the PRNDL module beside the shifter, do the lights light up to indicate you are in park / neutral?

solder connections in this module tend to go.

Try tapping the MAF sensor with a screwdriver while the car is running. if the car stalls suspect a fault MAF sensor.

Perhaps a vacuum issue? I had a similar problem. I found the fault in a rubber vac. line running from the small plastic junction box located smack on top of the intake manifold. One of the hoses was cracked and it made the engine run quite erratic, and stall. Check those hoses out, maybe?
