Has anybody ever used cheese cloth for polishing your paint? It's supposed to suspend the grime and oxidation into the cheesecloth as it's being polished off so you don't scratch the paint with the contaminents.

... for polishing?!? Nope, never heard of that before ... I have used the cloths for wiping a car off prior to painting it but nothing else ... not sure if it would work or not

I've used cheesecloth for years just for that purpose. Only thing is they catch onto everything and shred. Now I use a diaper towel, 100% cotton made by Turtle Wax. Get it at PepBoys in a package of 12. I fold it until it's about 5"x5" and keep refolding until it feels waxy. Then I use another. About 2 cloths for a whole car. If you're low on cash, I suppose you can wash them, but I never tried that!

I used cheesecloth for years, but now it's use is being squashed by most wax/polish makers. They claim the cloth doesn't allow dirt particles to be trapped deep enough, and can actually cause fine scratches. Now I use 100% terry cotton towels.

I use diaper towels also they work really well, but I only use one per wax to cut down on the cost!
