1996 grand am rear hazard lights not blinking

I see some info about newer ga's with this problem but not sure if it applies to a 96. All my directionals work and the front hazards blink but neither of the 2 rear ones blink at all, the hazard button makes a whirring or buzzing sound too sometimes, i have read that i can clean something, how do i do that if possible and how do i take it apart,

Sounds like the infamous multifunction switch problem.

Seeing as you stated your car is a 96, you don't have the same problem. I think your car has seperate flasher and turn signal modules, They are not serviceable but pretty cheap for a universal replacement. I would try removing and cleaning the contacts first.
