well i skipped vocational school today so i could finish it, right now i just have them hardcore taped; i didnt have time yesterday to fiberglass it. but as soon as i get them fiberglassed i will get pics. im still uploading some more pics of what ive done already so keep checking back at my server. actually the smaller projector had trouble fitting into the headlight at first because of its height but i took a dremel to the bottom of the headlight and made a little bit more space so now it just fits.
as you can tell the smaller projector isn't exactly a true projector as everyone thinks of. im debating on waiting to fiberglass it though because i might order some true bosch projectors shortly to replace what i currently have.
The amber is killen them
they arent HIDs yet, so its prob a 4k halogen bulb in it? im not sure. thats why they look yellow-ish. i wont have money for HIDs for a while so i'll prob just get aftermarket halogen bulbs for now. i cant stand the color of them.
i'll start on the tutorial tonight when i do the other light :)

most pics are on the server now. last night i started the fiberglass.
im sitting in vocational school right now so i'll take more pics when i get home.
i kinda had a new idea for a design for them so that both the projectors would be adjustable along with the whole headlight itself

Yeah i meant the reflector.
I woulda bought chrome headlights off ebay and did that to them.

Do you have any pics of the light output??
sk8rjess
01-09-2007, 12:37 PM
not yet sorry. like i said, im in the process of fiberglassing them. i've only worked on the right headlight anyways, i've had some things happen in the last few days so i haven't had the chance to start the other one. i figured i wouldn't start the left one till the right one is finished

Ohhh sorry. I thought you said you finished it. My bad.

its all good. i'll get some light output shots as soon as im done with them both

Actually would get a old vs new one too! Id love to see the actual difference it makes.
sk8rjess
01-09-2007, 12:48 PM
man i should have thought about that before! i would only be able to do a left vs right shot now that i've started the project. i have a 7500 bulb in the left so its blue-ish, so you'd be able to see the difference between the two. i'll do that tonight.

finally did my other headlight but i didnt fiberglass it or anything, i think it looks better like that. check it out. since i have the money to buy new projectors i might also buy whole new headlights, i think it'd be easier that way.
I might end up selling these but idk.

I dub thee magyver jr. Well done. To get rid of the amber reflector you can use clear GTS headlight covers as the actual lens for the headlights, or go with the ebay clear (or black) lights.

looks pretty good. question, where did you get those cylinders from? did they come with the projectors?

i cant seem to find these. if anyone comes across them, let me know.

they did come with them, its how each lens is adjusted.
tutorial update - all the money i won in the paintball tourney was given to a friend. he wrecked his civic pretty bad and i offered to let him borrow some money to get it fixed. thus meaning i cant get my new projectors for a while. all the money im getting right now from web design is going towards an ecotec :) after that i will get the bosch projectors like i want. i can still write a tut but for now i would have to use the current projectors off a corolla instead of the boschs i want to get.

wow i wish i had friends like that:D
So far, those look really good. I like how you mounted them, and the angel eyes aren't bad. Can't wait til you get a good projector in there and a nice hid setup too. Won't you have to do everything over again? Or will you make the newer proj's fit in the current holders that came with your current proj's?
I know a guy local who fiberglasses things, he's made his own motorcycle seats and stuff like that. I'd like to see how well he could put together a set of projector lights, if I was able to get the projectors, a pilot hid conv kit and an extra set of headlights.

thanks buddy :D
this was really my first big fiberglassing job, aside from a few customers computer cases and such.
hmm really? im thinking about doing a whole fiberglass dash when it warms up.
if you goto my car domain(http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2530365) then you can see a full list of things i plan on doing.
not sure im going to put HIDs in these or wait on my next bosch projectors... and when i get my new projectors i will prob buy brand new housing for them too.

OMG its godzilla!... Oh no its only a picture. Anyhow great work on the housing man, looks killer. Can't wait to see them finished and mounted. And on a side note, didn't know anyone on these forums played some pball, what marker you shooting?

Even with the Toyota projectors, it still looks wonderful. (Although it would've been nice looking to have polished the outerlens of the lights to a nice new-looking clearness. ;).
sk8rjess
02-25-2007, 09:06 AM
i tried my best to polish and remove the road grime. i even bought this kit for like $20 that guaranteed to remove all it but it didn't. i found out that my lens is why they aren't too bright so i gotta do something about that.

mmk. so i finally got around to taking light shots.
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i245/sk8rjess/car/100_1935.jpg
this is a light shot of the left headlight without my nasty covers on, look at how pretty they are.
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i245/sk8rjess/car/100_1936.jpg
this is my right headlight with the cover on. completely distorts it and block alot of light.
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i245/sk8rjess/car/100_1934.jpg
both lights together, still, left is without cover, right is with.
and for everyone asking about a tutorial, im planning on making new headlights usign dual bosch's sometime soon. im waiting untill i do that to make the tut becuase that way everyone can be using the same parts, rather then searching like crazy trying to find the exact ones i used. but if you'd like to go the route i did, just send me a pm and i'll gladly help you out.
Are those projectors? The cutoff is hard to see.
