will 225/55/16 fit on a grand am gt and will it make the handling worse or really change anything at all

It would fit.

It however won't change much

Your Factory Tires are

225/50/16

The middle part 50/55 means how tall the tire is, your increasing its overall size. You will mess up with speed. Plus you are picking a taller tire of sorts. So handling would decrease. But you would hardly know it.

to sum up, you wont notice a handling difference and you'll think you're going 2-3 mph slower than you actually are. Could be a good thing :lol:

That tire is taller than stock so it will effect your final drive ratio and the speedo . It's heavier ( more mass) and the sidewall is gonna flex more in cornering . While it will work , it's better to just get the correct tire .
