I have a question about the front STB for an '03 SE. I've heard that somewhere in '03 they changed something under the hood (alternator?) that changes which STB you'd need to get. What did they change? I searching in the forums before posting, but I don't really want to spend the next 3 hours reading to get an answer. I'm trying to figure out which STB I need to get. Any light anyone can shed on this would be great. And, I know some people think/know that STBs don't do anything, but I'm doing it anyway! Thanks again!

they changed the location of the wire and the boot coming off the alternator.....
if it takes 3 hours to find that answer in a search, might try different terms.

Yea look at the alt and if you have the boot on top of it then you have the newer style alt and will have to consider that when you get the STB.

So I checked it out and I don't have that alternator boot sticking up. I heard that on some GAs you can throw on an STB from a cavalier, if so, what year?

That is for the later model year GA, 96-98 I believe. There are plenty of places that sell the STB for our year cars so just find one you like.

When I installed mine on the Grand Am, it did hit the Alt. The dealer readjusted something to quit the "hitting" sound.
Do not know what they did?
