Its not for a grand am but hopefully someone can give me suggestions for a good all-season tire, its actually for my fiance's mini you would think it would drive great in the snow but it came with the worst tires some continental "all-season" tires that arent worth a crap in the snow
Tire size is 175/65R15 looking in the range of about $75-100/tire I'm not concerned with summer performance (or lack of  ) at all need something good in snow and rain

I had some all-season Bridgestone Potenza RE950's on that 4 door GA that I was quite pleased with. They were no hardcore snow tire, but were certainly very competent when I was caught in several snowstorms driving between Plymouth Meeting and Allentown. In terms of wet (rain) performance, they were the best tire I've ever experienced. Heh... maybe when it snows Seth can give you a demo (of doughnuts) in the Fiero... that's where they are now.
I was actually considering them for the Spec... not sure what sizes they are available in though.

I had Fuzion HRi's on the GA before getting the new wheels and they preformed pretty well in the dry and rain. Cant say about snow so yea. They are a little bit loud at highway speeds but like I said prolly some of the best all season tires I have ever been on.

hmm theres not a huge selection available in that size does anyone know how to figure if I can use a different size tire but keep the same 15" wheel?

Go for some winter tires if thats what its for. The spec on tirerack will tell you what sizes match up

The potenzas Matt had (now on the fiero) aren't bad, I like my falken ziex 512's better though. Great in the snow, wet, dry, whatever

I use Cooper Cobras on my Prizm and have had pretty good luck with them, especially for the price. If you plan to drive in some serious snow though, I kinda like the Michelin X Ice for a winter tire, but the Cobras are great for year round

Good all-season tyre? That's like an oxymoron...

Winter tires are quite different then allseason tires. The cheapest set of winter tires will be 100X better then the most expensive all season (in the snow that is).
If your set on all seasons I cant really help... I have michelin hydro edge tires on mine atm. Best tire I have ever rode on in the rain/dry, but once that temp drops and the all season compound hardens up they are not nearly as good as the old snow tires I got for a third the price (walmart dunlop graspics haha).

As Chris said, cheap snows are a good choice. Philly doesn't get enough snow to justify Blizzaks IMO but cheap winter tires will give you the extra edge in winter and still hold up in warmer weather, my friend runs cheap snow tire year round on a winter beater. Blizzaks would melt in august but these keep on trucking. Since these will be not used year round, why not go to winter tires?
