I was driving home the other day and started noticing that my car ...99 grand am Gt wants to steer to the right a lot easy to the left. The steering wheel feels like it is looser when steering right. It also feels like when i go on uneven surface or a small bump the car will try and jolt right like the wheel is loose or something is messed up between the wheel and the steering wheel. If anyone knows what might be happening please tell me .

Hard to say but I would get it in to a garage and have them check things out. I've had vehicles with bad tie rod ends and those tend to make steering hard one way or another. Ball joints will fdo some funny things, maybe have those checked for sure.

well i checked the tires and they had about 20 psi out of 40 so that helped a lot ... i dont know if there is some way to tighten the steering a little bit...for now it drives fine but if it gets worse illl take it to the shop.

^ You don’t need to do anything to the steering wheel, I really doubt anything is wrong with the steering wheel itself. The problem is probably in the front suspension or wheels and tires, or maybe even your rack. Get it looked at, it’s probably something fairly simple.

I had the same looseness in steering. In your case this could be any combination of these problems:
strut mounts
tie rod ends
sway bar endlinks/bushings
lower control arms and/or balljoints
or even the dreaded steering rack bushings

Most of the GAs of our age needs to have a lot of the front suspension replaced, namely the strut mounts. That is why the car feels all loose and try to jolt around. If you replace the struts it will be the same thing. You will get a lot of control back.

Personally id look at your suspension components as well. The rack and peanut usually doesnt need maintenance
