Gettin some new Motegi Trak Lite wheels need some advice

I am gettin the 17" flat black trak lite wheels by motegi

Now I have looked on tires.com and talk to town fair tire and they say that the sidewall they recommend for a 17 is 45 but I would really like to do a 40, anyone put 40's on a 17 or 45s on a 17 and have pics? I really would like to have an idea of what they will look like, preferably lowered 96-98s. Anyway lemme know what u guys think.

Andrew, Ive got 45s on my 17s with a sprint drop (~1.5 inches)

Edit... BTW my 215/45/r17s are just about perfect as far as keeping the speedo accurate (about 0.5% too low), I'm not sure if you care about the accuracy or not tho.

motegi flat blacks are FTW dude. They look amazing on red miatas, so I bet theyll look pretty go on your red GA.

Mine has 215/45/R17s as well (er had, Im back to stockers for now)
and the speed was only 2mph or so off ^.^

the best size for a 40 aspect ratio, would be 225/40R17 which is not an easy size to find.

On 7'' wide rims you want 215 as its about the perfect width for the rim, no sidewall buldging or stretching.

Yeah I think i am goin to b goin with the 45s cuz i was lookin at my 16s and they had 55s so the 45s should b the size that im lookin for. Anyway thx for the pics guys and I will throw some up here when i purchase them. I think 12-1300 for the wheels and tires is gonna b a pretty good deal, just gotta sell my old ones first, I have em up on ebay right now, if anyone is interested they r in great condition and the number is
