how hard are they to install? Do you have to do a lot of adjusting?

They are one of the easiest installed I have ever done for a mod..
I love them compared to what I use to have even though I miss the white overlay on the side.. But love the Clear reflector

Man...if only they were street legal in NJ, I'd be all over these.

Didn't alot of people get in trouble for these?

Hmmm...I seem to remember a few people complaining about getting in trouble. And they got pulled off of ebay cuz they weren't DOT/SAE approved, weren't they?

These new ones, are they any different from the old ones? They don't seem that different, but I've found a few sets for sale on ebay and all say that they are DOT/SAE. But that doesn't necessarily make them street legal in all states, does it?

techincally althought they are DOt approved they arent street legal in most states because of the reflector being cleared. Your basically running the risk of being pulled over, it depends on what kin dof mood the cops are in i guess

nova where u from in NJ?

NO, only 1 person got in trouble. Go ahead an do a search.
IMO thats not bad at all considering there are mulitple thousands of members and non members who have these headlights and vinyl over their reflector and yet only 1 person got in trouble. If that 1 person out of countless thousands got busted and now your scared is just stupid.

CHECK WITH YOUR STATE LAWS FIRST!!! if your state doesn't allow them and even though they say DOT/SAE approved that doent mean shit.....trust me!
if you get pulled over with those headlights on it will not hold up in court.

 Here we go again... the ole "Yeah, but the ad says they're DOT approved" !

The seller on E-Bay can write any description he wants for his product, and sadly many ignorant people fall for it. Now look.. I am writing the word "ignorant" in the meaning of being "un-informed"...NOT meaning a "stupid person". Not about to get into a tiff 'bout that.... I hope we are all friends here..

Anyways, yes, those are illegal here in this state... period. I don't care if the E-Bay seller writes ... "This product is DOT approved in Massachusetts", it is meaningless if the seller has not submitted his product to Department of Transportation for inspection and approval.... period. Why can't you people seem to grasp that ????

Your particular state laws probably vary and I don't know nor care about any other state law; but the fact is that the headlight assemblies without that stupid amber reflector is illegal here in this state....period. You can believe that or whistle dixie with it; your choice and I don't care.
I asked my nephew who is a cop here, and I also asked the chief of police who is my best friend... and believe it or not, the bug-a-boo is that silly amber reflector. It must be an amber reflector... period.

Silly ? Yes, it is... but that is the law here in this state.
I am only a messenger here... do not get angry at me... I don't care two craps about 'em; just trying to inform some guys here who still fall for that E-Bay "DOT approved" crap. E-Bay received so many complaints about one particular company's fraudulent claims of their product being DOT approved when the product wasn't, that it had the company remove the item. They have now carefully written the wording to imply... "may not be legal for street use", or "for off road use only". That way they are covered and are leaving the purchaser to haggle with the legalities of the product; it's out of the seller's hands that way...

I'm outta this thread, lol... I've probably angered a few members...I hope not though. Just trying to set the story correctly as there is so much bullshit about these silly amber reflectors and the DOT regulations... take it for what it's worth.. Which I'm sure some guys will tell me to "shove it up where the sun don't shine"; and I expect it too...

The respondent who mentioned there are thousands sold and only one or two people getting ticketed is true... no question about that; that is true.. But if you're going to give your interpretation of the laws, give it accurately.
There's also a lot of interpretation of the law on the officer's part too.... the cop can ignore it or issue a ticket for it... most will ignore the damn thing. But there's always that one cop who will be a dick and write a ticket.

Hmm... The city of Chicopee comes to mind... Hi Katie ... How ya' been???? We both know how this state works, don't we ?????
 :D

Either way....I would still get them if they were illegal and if I get pulled over....who cares, I will just replace them with the old ones and drive to the station to get violation revoked (24 hour limitation) Give it a couple of days and place those cool headlights back on

Alright, I was just trying to clarify, that's all. Sorry if I opened a whole can of worms that y'all would rather keep shut. I meant no harm or for anyone to get worked up, my bad. I was just curious, that's all.

02Silver, I'm near McGuire and Fort Dix, they're only about 10 minutes away. Mom and dad decided to stay close to home.
