Ello there,

Recently I've been looking to upgrade my GA from stock to awesome, haha. I was looking on magnaflow.com and found a catback exhaust system that would fit the 2.4L DOHC engine... but it's made for the sunfire/cavalier.. I was wondering if this would pose a problem to install on a GA or not.. I would think not because they have the same exact motors, but maybe everything is ran differently underneath the car? Help me? Thanks in advance.

I personally would just go custom. Check out a few reputable muffler shops in your area. You can probably save yourself a few bucks.

I got my Magnaflow muffler and resonator from these guys. http://www.hottexhaust.com/

No, I could be way wrong here, but I'm pretty sure I'm not. Those pipes are bent specifically for the underside of cavis and sunfires. You'd have to change everything to make if fit and at that point you might as well go custom.

Besides like old guy said, it will most likely save you some money.

Panda is probably right, J and N body cars are different underneath. Go custom.

Youll save a TON of money in the long run by going custom.

Ok, so it looks like I'm going with the camaro style muffler.. haha, next couple of questions and then I promise I'll stop bothering you guys..

What size resonator should I get?

and

What size inlets should I have? 2.25" or 2.5"?

Thanks in advance again.

I belive it's 2.25. This is how the shop did my setup.

Whenever I've looked for a Flowmaster 80 (as that's probably the most popular transverse muffler) the smallest inlet I've found is 2.5, do they make it with 2.25 on the inlet side?

If you want performance, pissed off neighbors, and a headache, leave the resonator out. If you want performance, a nice mellow sound, and the ability to drive comfortably, use a resonator.

Adults use resonators, kids leave them out.

The resonator will help keep the exhaust from being raspy, if you like the raspy backfiring sound when stomping on it, leave the resonator off.

I just had mine done and had the resonator cut out and it sounds amazing. Its not even annoying at highway speeds but you can hear it. I used the exact same muffler as the one in the youtube video link I posted above.
