Well here is what I have so far
HU:JVC KW-AVX706
Front Components: Phoenix Gold OctaneR 6.5 Comp
Amp: Phoenix Gold Octane R9.0.5 5ch 900w
Rear Speakers: Phoenix Gold Octane 6x9's
The sub is where I am stumped I want a clean sounding system so it can't overcome the rest of the sound. I was thinking a single 10 in a sealed box does that sound alright? Also I don't knwo if it is my imaging in the front or what but I have noticed that when watching a movie you can tell that the sound is not coming from the front (don't know if that makes sense) So I was also looking for a center channel speaker any recommendations?

What you've got there so far looks good...
Single 10" sounds alright, I would go with a ported box if you can afford the extra space it will take up (and deal with the slightly more complicated build if you're building the box yourself). What subs have you been looking at? Any PG models? One of the PG lines has really good price/performance subs but I don't think it was OctaneR but I can't remember...
As for the front/rear problem, that HU has built in DD/DTS decoding I believe, so in movies you should be having no problems if you've setup the HU properly and entered the speaker distances and sizes properly. For music or stereo material on the other hand you'll want to fade the rear 6x9s out completely (unless you engage something like DPL-II Music if that deck has it). I guess DPL-II Music would be nice in the car... Does it have that? If that is engaged, you may experience more sounds coming from the rear. If you don't like that then I would do what I suggested above and put it in stereo mode and fade the rear right out. For music only though, for 5.1 material I would just turn down the levels of the rears if the surround effects are too much and make sure the speaker setup is right in the HUs menus.
As for the centre channel, are you looking to modify your dash, cut a hole and put a centre in like that? Or are you looking for something you can mount easily? At first I was going to recommend one of the Clarion or Kenwood 1/2 DIN centre channel speakers but it looks like that JVC is already taking up the whole HU opening as it's double-DIN...

Well I have the stock speakers in the front for now till I get my Q forms in so that may be part of the problem. Yes the deck has DTS decoding but I just installed it yesterday and haven't figured everything out yet. The dang owners manual is like a mini novel :)
As for the center channel I was thinking of putting it right on top of the dash with fiberglass and molding it in so it looks good.
The sub box will probably be sealed because I don't want to lose much trunk space I was thinking of either mounting it in the spare tire well or building a box with a plexiglass window in the back and the sub facing into the rear seats. I hoping to stick with PG just for uniformity and the Octane is fairley cheap but I need something that has a clean sound to it and really don't need a whole lot of power.
This is my first ever system so please bare with me since I am a total newb to this. I have been researching for the past few wekks befor ebuying anything but if you see problems with my ides please let me know!!

Well an update I had ordered my components from woofersetc.com and come to find out they were out of stock so they "upgraded" me to CDT Audio components. I have never heard of this compnay but the guy on the phone said there is a night and day difference between the two. Any input on this??

Never heard of CDT, they could be trying to sell the CDT's to you because they are an authorized dealer of CDT where as they are not an authorized dealer of Pheonix Gold, so you would get factory warrenty with the CDT's. But maybe they are telling the truth, maybe the CDT's are better. Can't help you out there. Hopefully somebody on here has heard them.

Well I purchased the PG comps for $65.00 and they upgraded me to these for $10.00 more when they sell them for $150.00 normally so I guess I can't complain I just hope they are good components!

I would agree that a 10" sub would be great but I also suggest a ported box..gives a lil more boom... But i dont think it will drown out the rest of your system. I know when I ran a 12" sub in a closed box it sounded nice.. of course now I have 2-12" and u can hear them a mile away :D So a 10" should be just enough or try a 12" in a sealed box..
