I was on the drive home tonight when my Coolant temp went from about 170 to 0. I pulled over to check to see if anything was wrong with the engine and nothing was leaking or abnormally hot. I'm just wondering if this is most likely the sensor and how much/part number so I can get my local mechanic to replace it. Thanks

Could be several things. This subject has been discusse much in the last month so when you start reading through the treads, you'll get all the info you need.

Well thanks for the help. Anyways. It turns out it was the fan relay that was stuck open cooling the temp to near zero. All I had to do was switch out a $13 relay and everything is fine.
