what i ahve set up in my 96 grand am GT is i took the air box which is located on the driverside right behidn bumper
its a rubber thing looks like the guard under ur car to protect engine...
i basically just cut it and folded it around the opening next to the fog lights so its basically a ram air intake...
the air box is quit usless unless u open it since as soon as u rev the engine the air is sucked out

sry i type like crap
if u follow the air intake from the engine to the air filter which should be next to battery, it then goes down into your driver side front wheel well
you air box is located here... it basicaly is box of cold air which is exhaust rapidily and becomes usless... i basically cut this box open from underneither the car and folded the flap around the opening in the bumper next to the fog light
u need to drive ur car up on ramps and get under it to see it
its a poor mans ram air ALSO u could jsut cut a rectangle shape out of the air box and attacha homemade scoop...

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortuanately, that procedure would take alot of time. Can someone please give me instructions on how to make a simple, cold air intake. I'd rather make my own, but if i have to, i will use an import CAI. But before i do, can anyone tell me what Import CAI i will need on my car? and if so, will i have to modify it to fit in my car?

i built my own for a 98 GT it was real easy heres what you do go to you local auto parts store and buy a cone filter then get a 3" platic vacume conneting hose from a hardware store run the vacume hose from the mass airflow senser into the cone the cone should sit on the wheel well where your airbox waswrap the connecting points on the hose(such as hose with airflow senser) and your done the whole prosesse once you have the parts shouldnt take more than 20 minutes:evil2:

I'm going to see if I can find some installs in the archives - there WERE several really good ones there.

You might check http://www.gapower.com their was someone who a while ago posted one that used ducting for a dryer. I looked pretty nice and since the all the duct work was metal, it blended well too. There is a lot of good info there also for some other mods. I am not sure if it is still up or not. All the sudden the emails died and that was it. I haven't been there in a while. Good luck. Mark
