alrite, i dont know the answer to this easy question for you guys. I did a search and i could not find anything.
Does the speaker cover come off of the front door panel? I'm gonna have new speakers put in and I want the cover off, but I dont know if the thing just pops off or if the people installing them have to cut it off. I attached a pic that points to it. Thanks!

It does come off but you have to take the door panel off. Its only 3 screws. One behind the reflector, The one is the door handle,And another inside the peice inside the middle of the door

If it's like the 96-98 cars, do not attempt to pop the cover off from the inside of the car like that. If you do so you'll strip the plastic posts and you won't be able to get the grille to stay on afterwards. It has to be removed from the inside of the door by unscrewing the black metal retainers on it, as Tom said above. Just a warning in case you want to try to pry it off anyway.

Ah well I guess it is different than 96-98 cars then... (They aren't clips by the way but just flat "nuts" that are threaded on the posts of the grille). But there still has to be something retaining the grille on the 99+, right? And it has to be removed from the other side (as Tom suggested)?

just those plastic weld looking things... once you break them, major PITA to get back on. Same with the door panel inserts, I used liquid nails to get mine all back in.

No no, I WAS NOT going to pry them off w/out taking the panel off. I knew that the panel had to come off first, I'm not that dumb.
So, basically, they do come off, its just flat screws holding the grill on? Any pics u guys can find?
...and nineteen88ga, I've read that thread a few times, but it doesnt say anything about the grill cover.

like i said, you gotta cut the plastic welds then use something strong to keep them back in place.

Ohhh I get it so there's no retainers at all it's just that they melt up the plastic on the other side? Weird.
