I had new speakers installed in my Grand AM today and they sound great! The only complaint I have is that my left rear speaker does not work and the guy who installed them said something was/could be wrong with the radio, I think he said channel out or something I couldn't understand his accent anyways, is there anything I could check or should I go by tomorrow and let another person have a quick look at it.

LOL couldn't understand his accent. I wonder if he did that on purpose so as not to have to explain that.
You're running off the HU amp I'm guessing? If that's the case you usually can't blow just one channel on an HU amp, it's usually all-or-nothing. So if the other speakers are working I'd bet it's a wiring issue.
But I have a much better fix for you. It's a secret but will make your SQ so much better, lol. K, first go to the back where your rear speakers are. Then you already have the left one not working so here's what you do. Disconnect (or cut the wire on) the right one. Presto! You've not only solved the problem you've also made things sound 100x better for you up front! :D
