Alrite, I'm gonna put new speakers in my GA in a week or two. I'm interested in putting Dynamat in the car, but don't know a lot about it. There is some noticeable noise that comes into the car from the outside, and I've just read the labels on the dynamat boxes saying that it decreases outside noise. I would like your opinions about the Dynamat and if you think its worth putting it in.
I am interested in putting it in both doors (covering the whole door), and the rear if possible, which leads me to my next question. Where in the rear can you put the Dynamat? Is there anyway that you can put it around the rear tire wells because that's where most of the outside noise is coming from. Again, i don't have a lot of knowledge about this stuff
...I've done a search and I couldn't find anything to be of help.
Sound deadeding for the win, it is not simply to kill sound from the outside, but as well as limit some of the vibrartions on the interior of your car caused from the speakers, I have a layer of it around the speakers in the doors and it makes a noticeable difference, I have yet to do the rear deck but that will come this year.

i had crap loads of it in my grand am, and it is worth it. make sure you put it in the right places.
first off, it needs to be mounted to meal surfaces. secondly, there are way to put it ont he rear wheel wells, but if you are talking about that noise when its rainging out, i dont know how to get rid of that noise from the back. i used many square feet of dynamat to try and get rid of that, to no avail.
if you search dynamat youll see install pics on here, you can also go to my sounddomain page for my grand am and theres pics of m dynamat installed.

Okay, so...I am prob gonna put it in. How much around am I looking here to do the whole doors and rear deck? I prob only have a budget of $75-85 max...the rest was spent on speakers, deck, etc. how much mat can i get for that?
Car audio dave, I wasn't talking about rain, there is just a lot of road noise coming from the rear well, and its irritating. So, now the I know that it can be put around the rear wells, how do they put it in the rear wells? will they have to tear up my car in order to put this near the wells?
EDIT: Could you tell me more about those two other ones dandragonrage since im on a prob low budget for this? what do u think of either?

UPDATE: Just got off the phone with the place that's gonna install the speakers...he said that they carry Hushmat only, they don't use Dynamat. He said that he matted his whole car with this stuff and there is basically no noise and the sound is great. Anyone else recommend the Hushmat brand?

Never heard of it. But it seems it's butyl, which is a definite good thing. The question is, how good is the adhesive on it?
As far as the two I mentioned, I can say they both have better adhesion and temperature properties than Dynamat and are also cheaper. Personally, I think I'm going to use Second Skin Sludge in my car.
