View Full Version : Better Bulbs w/ Foggy Headlights?

I'd like to make my headlights a lot brighter (a white/yellow light...not bluish), not only to see better but to hopefully help the car look better at night. I have the "headlight haze". Would the better bulbs make a huge difference, or still look terrible with the hazy lights?

New headlights and new plain bulbs will look 100% better.

Better bulbs may (probably will) only bring the haze to more attention. Hazed lights were the rage on 80s econo boxes kind of like frosted bulbs in your ceiling fan, that frosting has to go.

Short of new bulbs there are ways to get the haze minimized in some cases. Basically you have to wet sand the plastic with mildly abrasive products designed for it. I know someone here did it a year but I don't recall the details. Personally in this instance I'd call a local detailer, the best you can find, and ask if he can do it.

How many times do i have to explain this?

YOU CAN FIX YOUR HEADLIGHTS FOR DIRT CHEAP AND MAKE THEM LOOK BRAND NEW!

You know, I was one of the first to come up with a uniform way of doing that very thing? I did it about a year and a half ago. Sandpaper, rubbing compund, polishing compound, and Meguairs Plast-X. It helped, but a lot of the haze is on the inside. With that said, and getting back to the topic of my post (to which only one person has replied)...

Better bulbs: Make it look better or worse????????

P.S. If you dont believe me, look here:

They have gotten hazy again since then, however. Not a whole lot more I can do, and I no longer have a buffer or the time to do it (in college). Prior to this posting, all there was on the forum was speculation and ideas.
