Mine is mounted in front of the sunroof between the visors.

Some people have said it's hard to see or use but I use the remote and almost never look at it at all.

It's a pretty simple install with just a standard universal bracket screwed into the headliner and the wires run up the passenger side A pillar and out the sunroof molding.

One of the other guys on here named "TAGS" was asking about it and ended up doing something similar. His thread is here (http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=69396). Good luck, let us know what you end up doing.

Do you have an aftermarket deck or a stock one?
If you have an aftermarket deck, many companies have compatible tuner add-ons so you don't have unsightly out-of-place separate receiver things in the car. Everything's controlled and displayed right from the HU.
Factory GM heads can run an add-on sat radio tuner as well, but I don't think that would be possible on your 99 (if you still have the stock radio) as this feature didn't start until later years.

Is that the little box they try to sell with the Sirius ready head units? If so, are the morons at best lie right that it cant be mounted in the trunk? If not do you know why?

It can be mounted in the trunk if it's one of those modules, as opposed to a player itself. Might need to extend the wire, depending on how long it is.
yeah my deck is sat. radio ready but i just want one that gives me the portability.

I agree I also had the option to get the tuner for my pioneer deck but i got the audiovox one because I can take it out of the car and hook it up to my home theatre system

I'd rather get two tuners if that were the case, but that's just me. I'm not really a fan of having things stick out out-of-place like in the car really.
Then again I have no idea how XM/Sirius work, I mean do you have to have a subscription per tuner or can you have more than one tuner listed on a single account/subscription?

I tried one of them delphis at first, and they mounted it so it was sticking out in the passenger side and my friend knocked it off. So I said, well this is crap. I took it back and bought this deck. You have to buy a receiver if you do it this way, and that is installed underneath the passenger floor board, only costs about 100$. Almost anyone will tell you, if you go with the deck it's going to sound so much cleaner. Just saying :)

The deck add-ons certainly sound better than using an FM transmitter, but don't really sound any better than hooking up to the line out of a separate.
I went from a Sportster to a deck add-on and liked the integration, but I really missed the larger display and better interface of the separate unit.

Also, I had mine mounted underneath the A/C controls, right in front of the shift lever. It fit there very well on my '98.
