My G.A. has the shitty instrument panel in it,just temp,m.p.h.,and gas gauge. My uncle owns a junkyard with 2 or 3 g.a. there.
One of them has the better gauges with the tach and all that.
Will the panel go in my or will I have to modify anything?

It's a direct swap.
Make sure that the cluster you get has a 6 not a 4 in the lower right hand corner... this indicates which engine the cluster was built for, using the incorrect one will result in an inaccurate tach.
Everything will work fine except for the oil pressure gauge. If you want to fix this, you will need to replace your oil pressure switch with an oil pressure sending unit.

Also it is not possible to roll the odometer back... and you should NOT attempt to remove the needles, otherwise it will trash the cluster; unless you have access to some expensive equipment.
write down the original mileage on a sticker, then write the mileage on the new cluster on the same sticker so you know your cars actual mileage.

In most states if you switch out clusters you are required to get some kind of sticker put on the inside of the drivers door to notify people.

Guess I'll be heading back to the junkyard, I'd like to find the cluster with the tach too. How hard will it be to hopok up the oil pressure sending unit and where does it go?

In your case (2.3)...

Sorry... don't have the 3.3 diagrams for the others.

Thanks Matt, Maybe this weekend I'll go hunting for a 2.3 with a tach at the junkyard. Found one on ebay, but only for the 6 cylinder

ok swap my gauages in my 91 grand am with a 2.5 in it, and everything works perfect but the oil, and i switched the sender to one with the gauge and it cause my fuse for my fuel pump to blow right when i crank the engine

Put your old switch back in. You'll need to get a factory service manual for your year with full wiring diagrams. This thread only applies to the 92-95 gauges/sender. It is quite possible the wiring is different, and changing the oil sender/switch is causing a short on your car.
