There's nasty stuff underneath... holes/metal nubs, not to mention the dirt/paint condition of a 15 year old car. The body lines of the 92-98 gen just don't look right de-ribbed either. Leave em on.

heres what mine looked like without moldings when I bought it...

I did some work, ground all the rust down to bare metal, wet sanded it, then primed.

and painted

Just finished installing the GT moldings and side skirts.. got no pics yet. Would have been alot easier if there were metal tabs for the molding to clip onto... but I ended up glueing and taping them on.

Anything you want. I suggest going with rims as your next move.

The civic headlights come with a wiring harness but you will need to hook that up with the stock wiring harness.

oh I see. So do I need to make brackets for them or is there an easier way of doing that? I know I sound pathetic but I really think this car can have potential those headlights make my mouth water lol

I did some stuff to my 95 GT sedan, check it:

also, you can look at the progress on my Cardomain page:

they don't make a lot of stuff for the fourth-gen Grand Am, you just gotta be creative. like Dan.

I haven't seen pictures of your car but I do offer one thought - paint. The biggest change you can do is to have a car painted and trimmed up. Try to think of something unique but tasteful and hopefully you will be able to either photoshop it and see or ask people here to do it for you.

Some thoughts
- do you want the car one color or not
- if the side molding is the same color would you be happier
- would you rather the side molding were a second trim color
- have you considered two tone paint perhaps from the top of the side molding down

Does anyone have a picture of a complete two tone job from the top of the molding down? I've seen plenty of cars where the molding alone was a different color but never the entire bottom of the car.

I have a few pics of my car on cardomain..lol but I forgot my id and pass lol so I gotta find it now but yah I might consider paint but dont have that much green at the moment to do it..I've bought a replacment muffler its not much but I had it on my Lumina and I liked the sound its a Turbo muffler *shrugs* better than that beat up stock muffler...

heres what my car looks like when I first bought it btw ignore the date on the pic moms cam wasnt set. The only paint I'd want would be to a brighter red ..if not I might have it painted a dark blue or black..who knows..

I like them more with out the ribs. Never really liked them but thats I.m.o. Its too bad the sides are a little flat on that year needs a bit more to the fenders. Might want to fill in the ribs on the bumpers too tho. you can buy some decals to cover the holes and they come domed so they just dont get poked in. probly gonna need a good wax.
But hey atleast they aint the huge GT ribs you are trying to take off.

I didn't see anyone else mention this (If they did, sorry for repeating) but do some work with lighting. Interior and exterior neons can look AWESOME if you get creative with it, plus it can be simple to mount and wire neons yourself as long as you do a little research and use some care. I have a blue 94 sedan and I enjoy having a giant mobile glow-stick
