that apparently what hes saying. Personally I don't think they're needed...ever. You won't lose any sound quality by upgrading the factory headunit, it will only improve it.

Umm yes u do as soon as u change out the H.U. u loose sound quality the bass blockes stop all the bass from goin tot the front speakers which frankly cant handel it

umm, no, you dont. :) If your speakers are distorting from bass, you need to turn the bass down on your headunit. Power dosen't damage speakers, distortion does. Just because your upgrading from your OEM headunit (premium sound or not) dosen't mean you can go full volume and be distortion free. Case in point is if you upgrade your headunit you will experience better sound quality from your factory speakers though, they still have limitations.

well dont forget the monsoon HU has an amp for some of the speakers, so those speakers wont have as much power, i cant remember if its the all the front speakers or just hte tweeters.

The amp is for the rear woofers only, that is half the rear 6*9. The front tweeters are hooked in line with the front door woofer and powered by an external crossover, but both are powered by the radios internal amp, as are the rear mid range and tweeters.
