Rear speaker holders (brackets)

Hello,

I bought a 99 GAGT that the previous owner removed the rear speakers. I was told that I need the speaker holders that came with the originals. I called a local dealership but they say they don't sell that piece seperate. Does anyone know where I can get them from? Also I haven't been able to find them at any local savage yards, either.

yea i had a bitch of a time finding some too casue i got new speakers and accidently threw one of mine away. so i had to buy a 99GT speaker, and i got the bracket, problem was that i also needed the hook up clips on the speaker..but hte clips are different for a 99, so i still cant intall my new speaker cause i need those damn clips.

Use MDF. Cut out like 10" x 10" of 3/4", cut a hole about 5.8" in diameter in the middle and rabbet it using a router. Mount it with several screws on the bottom side of the rear deck. Bam - now you have room for a long throw woofer.

You can also use this technique for larger sizes, but you'll need to dremel.
