ok ive looked at 2,500 and down to as much at 700 price dont matter. i just dont want thug rims (chrome or stuppid desgins) or a rim i will find on a ford tarus in the ghetto. i like these ones because the spokes come out to the lip of the rim which i think makes the rims look bigger. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&viewitem=&item=150095009904

also im going with 18's cuz i cant find anyone with the same car who had installed anything bigger without rubbing issues.

any ideas on how these would look mounted on my car with a kit? or should i go with a polished lip look? need ideas quick i just bought a KYB GR-2 front/ rear kit and i want to top it off with rims....

thanks

if anyone needs pics , look at myspace

Those rims do look nice.

Do you have new shocks or struts? I would recommend both and you should change teh bushings while you are at it. 18s are nice and I am also going with them. You wont have any rubbing issues with a drop.

I'm saying nay also. Too much open space too little wheel. It works on some cars but not a GA. You need to go to discount tires website. They have a program that shows you what wheels will look like on your car, including different sizes.

WTF?!?!?! Why don't you just go on and say what you really feel? Seems like it's on the tip of your tongue.

easy T... I really don't think he's tryin to drop the n bomb around here as you seem to be pushing it out to be... I think he's just using a superficial stereo type to express his lack of interest in chrome rims. Not for nothing but mainstream (and a lot of underground) rap is all about chrome rims and living in the ghetto, or coming up from the ghetto and the hardships that rapper had to deal with. In the lyrics and visual content of videos, it is often common place for chrome rims or "stupid designs" (as he puts them) to be seen and talked about. The sheer fact that 99% of rappers are black is a mere coincidence that I feel you may be blowing out of porportion. I mean, lets face it, besides eminem and paul wall, white people can't rap, although Paul Wall does talk alot about his 84's :)

However, if you feel that he is truely being judgemental or racist, take it up with him via PM, or seek a moderator to decide the fate of his post

EDIT- although after re-reading his post a few times, maybe it is on the tip of his tounge... i'm not sure how to take that comment anymore

On topic- i say nay, but i'm a five star fanatic

we have pretty much the same car and i'm runnin 245/35/zr19 tires on 19 x 8 wheels and I don't have any rubbing. I also don't have my wheel wells, so that could have something to do with it as well

I say nay as well.
As a side note; I didn't get anything racist from his statement at all.

not trying hi-jack the post....simply saying "I don't want chrome rims or a stupid design" would have been enough. Did attaching "thug" and "ghetto" really help u to express yourself? n-bomb...that's funny (seriously) :laugh2:

Ironic that i didn't exactly SAY anything about racist or the "n-bomb".....but you knew exactly what i was talking about. That should tell you something.

on topic....IMO, those rims are boring. But you probably don't want my "slightly thugged/found on a GA in the ghetto" opinion.

FIrst ones aren't horrible but I tend to lean towards thinner multiple spokes, maybe with rivits/screw around the outter lip. Does Louis Vuitton make wheels? Maybe they will throw in a matching bag for the lug wrench. lol

Here I'll say it. Thick, chunky wheels with a extra side of 'bling' are supa' tacky and gay beyond all that is holy. Nothing like a 130lbs wheel on your under powered vehicle.

Well I'm not sure what you are beating around the bush about. If it is what Gus mention then you are being just as racist thinking white people can't be thugs nor can they be from the ghetto. Right?

What if he said 'chrome pimp rims', would that be offensive too?

'Ugly chrome rims' could be a chrome twisted 6 spoke wheel. I find nothing wrong with his discription, and infact I think everyone here clearly understood what he meant.

BTW, there are MANY different racest in the 'ghetto' and far too many different races who think they are 'thugs'. So IMO, it's doesn't matter what it is.

damn u guys are allrite, i never seen that site for rims, im def reconsidering .... i do like the 5-spoke design, i checked it out on my car using a 2 door red model and for 18's, they look tight...

an T

u allrite too man, its got nothiong to do with me being racsit, if i was , i would come out and say what u expected me to say but i dident need to. i wasent thinking that at all. i live in buffalo, and there are a lot of trashy WHITE folk who drive 200$ cars with 2500$ 22's on it. or put a rim on the car just for the sake of it being a rim, like the *prime* 3-spokes in 15" lol just cracks me up. rims are to *dress* up ur car.... and i dident want any redneck sugestions actaully :banghead:

Just to be pedantic here, ghetto is actually a term for any run down area of town. It's often used to mean a minority area because that's what people want to think. Unfortunatly I've seen many expensive rims on cars parked outside of homes that would fall over if leaned against it. I took it that he meant something similar in his post. To assume he meant the n word which I can't even type here because it's a banned word could just as easily be seen as reverse racism. I know that it wasn't meant that way but I just wanted to point out that it's very dangerous to make assumptions about what others are "almost saying".

Getting past that I still think you need to find wheels that are a bit more there. That is unless you plan on dropping massive money on severe brake upgrades. Our cars have functional but smallish rotors designed to fit behind 15 inch wheels and the calipers from factory aren't pretty colors.

nay.

Need to see more 5 spoke rims. To many 6-7 spoke wheels out there and most are the Konig Tantrum's or the Motegi M7's. They are nice rims, don't get me wrong,I might get some for winter, but theres just to many out there

now normally I would say 5-spoke FTW, but somethin like the first one you picked out may go better with the kit that you have... just my $.02.

Edit: But I think a gunmetal color would look better.

= ) i like scorpios btw.... well im looking into the 5-spoke designs, i see a lot i really like, and yous will be the 1st to see my choices but now im wondering what kind of springs to go with so i dont have a huge wheel gap. then one guy said to go with 19's and i like the look on SWEET98GA's car but did u use drop springs or stock? a mild drop i heard is eibach. this is 1st car i owned with a kit so i dont want to mess this up. what i want is
limited wheel gap
biggest rim without rubbing
firm ride (kyb-gr-2) <--- got those on order
keep my car at a drivalbe ride height
