I'm looking for 225/50R16 tires just as a standard replacement. Looking for something that is quiet, comfortable, descent tread life, and has good handling. Did some research and narrowed down to three finalists.

Michelin Pilot Exalto
BFG Traction T/A
Bridgestone G009

Which ones would you go for??

Did you look at Kumho, they are cheap and perform well

Which Kumho are you referring to?

Escta, pick which version depending on whether, looks performance or milage is your goal. I like ASX

I have the Escta ASX on my GA and they handle great. I bought them from tires.com and for the price I couldn't go wrong.

Are the ASX tires comfortable? I'm looking for a quiet soft ride.

What about tire noise with the Kuhmos?

They're better than the stock Goodyear RSA tires and Hankook ones that I've had on my car. They also seem to stick to the road through turns good for an all season tire.

Here's a question for everyone: I've got the 225/50R16 Goodyear RSA's on my car as do a lot of you too.

All the online tire places have very negative owner reviews even though when you look at the Tire Rack tests, the RSA's actually perform great. I personally like the RSA's because they had great rain traction quick reflexes and excellent milage, although the ride and noise could be better. Why do so many people hate them? I would buy them again if the price were cheaper.

The RSA's have terrible rain traction when they start wearing down. They can be scary in snow. My uncle has them on his Alero and he's going for the 205/55 Kumhos as replacement. He's retired and doesn't drive much in winter so the narrower tire will work all season for him.
My GT has the original RSA's and it has 82k miles on it, they are actually in better shape than the uncles with 32k because we keep them hard and have winter tires to swap out with.

Yup. Horrible wet traction, abysmal snow traction (Should be considered summer only!), and just fair handling, IMO. Treadwear isn't great either. A little noise, a flexy sidewall, and mine develop flat spots after sitting for just a few hours.

I have Kuhmos 712 and I don't think I would buy them again, I think my they have about the same amount of raod noise as the BFG All Tarain TA's on the Jimmy.
