So I am getting a couple of bonus checks from work in the next few weeks and looking to do the following mods. Please give me your input on them and what kind of performance gains I should see. I appreciate you taking the time to give me any response/feedback as it is highly valued! Also should I expect any impact on gas mileage?

Under the Hood:
RSM High Flow Throttle Body
3 Piece CAI
RSM Lightweight Pullys (Cranskshaft & Alternator)
New Alternator and Optoma Battery (it seems like the old ones are going)

Suspension:
Eibach Pro Kit Lowering Springs
KYB AGX Sport Adjustable Struts
Sway Bar
New Rotors and Pads

Exhaust:
Looking for a custom Exhaust MAYBE an SLP Exhaust
Pacesetter Headers

I am also doing a lot of Audio including an in dash DVD System, Subs, Infinity speakers for clarity...etc.

Let Me Know and THANKS again!

CAI is the only thing in your list worth while IMO.

Exhuast, you can get pacesetter, SLP or Borla, pick one.
Pacesetter DOES NOT make headers for the 3400.

Well the alt and battery really arent mods so you cant judge those. I need a new bat soon too.

Id save the money you would spend on the TB and spend it somewhere else. Unless you have a ported and polished UIM and LIM then it really wont do much.

The lightweight pulleys are not worth it at all. Personally get an underdrive pulley for the crank and youll be really happy.

Go custom with the exhaust. Way cheaper and you can get what you want.

The whole *going custom is cheaper* thing isnt entirely true. I dont know any shop that would do it for any less than $400 in my area, and thats with the cheapest tips and muffler you can find.

Pacesetter's CB is ~$260.

Yea I keep forgetting about Pacesetters setup they have now. My whole setup was about $500 and that is including everything. However it was way cheaper then Borla and SLP and I got the sound that I wanted.

no need to upgrade TB unless you are going forced induction. Period

if you are going to get an optima, make sure its a yellow top... don't listen to anyone who tells you a redtop is fine, cause for your audio, it's not

I dunno if TOG is still around, but they did headers

steer clear of the light weight pulleys too

and if you got alot of audio stuff in your car, wont hurt to get a alt with a lil more output (higher amp rating). i notice alot of ppl (it seems) never worry about the load they put on the alt.

SLP when it was being sold was $390-$420. Even with shipping its still cheaper than $500. Its even mandrel bent unlike a custom CB would be.

i'd have to go look at my invoice to see what the exhaust was. guy that did the motor work also did the exhaust, so it was all one invoice. but he said the header would probly be about 500 or more its self, maybe 600 since it was pretty much handmade and ceramic coated. he did pretty good, tho his lil flex pipe came loose and i had to get it replaced.

While I love reading all the incorrect information regarding throttlebodies, I want to ask why anyone here would support a company that has lied and decieved the grand am community? They did such a horrible job with their company that they had to change the name and pretend to sell the company to another. They are a sponsor though I don't know why this site would tolerate their actions. I am talking about RSM/Z-spec.

I sell a larger TB that is billet and cheaper. You figure it out.

"no need to upgrade TB unless you are going forced induction. Period"

Larger throttle bodies work better with mods but it most certainly does not require boost. Size is a factor on power output, efficiency, rpm, displacement, plenum/runner volume. 52 and 56mm TBs on 3100/3400 motors are small. The 3500 gets a 65mm TB. GM knew what the engine needed (more plenum, more TB).

tru. and, last time i have delt with RSM/Z-spec or what ever they want to call them selves was when i got my TB from them. that was late spring of 03. tho i wont complain about the products, they could use better customer service. i'm much better informed now thanx to this forum and its users.

Well Ben all I had to say is that there are some other mods that can be done before hitting the TB but its a worthwhile upgrade. I do agree that your TBs are amazing and Ill be getting one as soon as I can get the money saved up and you have them in stock!!!
