I am going to purchase some carbon fiber headlight covers from GTS, hopefully through pepboys. I have heard how the smoke don't let any light through. I already went to pepboys and bought the silvania silverstars cause they were on sale. I just wanted to know how the headlight covers went on, and if they were easy to get on and off. I just don't want the hastle of always taking the smoke covers on and off. I hear there is no drilling, and that all you have to do is pop the hood to take them off. I would like some opinions of people who have them as well. Any help or advise would be appriciated, thanks

Mine are by auto ventshade and I always take them off at night because they do affect the light output quite a bit but I only have the original light bulbs. Follow the link to see how they are installed; http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=70991

When you put the covers on, remember to take them off at night or in inclement weather. It is illegal to have them on during times where you are required to have your headlamps on and fully usable in most states.

Yeah if your driving at night you need to take those off. Not to bad if your going around town, but on the highway you don't see s&!7. Only light you would get is from your fogs.

yes they pop on. the top they are held on by the hood. the bottom part just slides under the headlight. no velcro needed!!! trust me the covers will go nowhere!

i heard something about GTS out of business, but you can still order them through autozone, pepboys, etc. is that true?

I would see about getting AVS ones instead, much better fitment... I had the smoke ones on my GT and the passenger sides fitment was all wrong...

Here's my car and my boyfriends car, he's got the AVS ones and you can see how much better they fit around the headlights..

See how it doesn't sit flush with the light?

It's JUST the pass. side though, the fitment on the drivers is perfect.. See below

Just some food for thought :)

i want to stay away from the smoke though. carbon fiber would seem to be better for what I want to use them for. I don't want the trouble of taking them off all of the time

I just assumed AVS made CF ones too.. Maybe they don't.. But the fitment is still crap CF or Smoked

I haven't heard anything about the fitment difference. Here is a pic of my car, I thingk it would look better with smoke, but it seems like to much of a hastle since this is the only car I have, and I do night dirving. I don't think AVS makes carbon fiber. Do the AVS velcro on?

i got the AVS ones by accident (Pep boys fault) and i tried to put them on. for some reason i coudln't even get them on my headlights. i returned them anyways saying they ordered the wrong ones.

x2 there's a little curved piece that wraps around the top of the headlight, they're not going to go anyplace

i just got my headlight covers friday. when you put them on, do you put them between the headlight and the rubber surrounding the headlight. Or do you just put them on the outside of the rubber?

Bouchie11982

with mine i put the bottom part in between the rubber and the headlight. i've seen some people put it all the way under. i think it is personal preference. but it just looks better if you put it in between the headlight and rubber thing.

i just didn't know if they could fit between the headlight and the rubber thing. i didn't know i had an option

 its ok. it is just a preference i guess, but i've seen some people that put it entirely over the headlight and ive seen some that put it between the headligh and the rubber part. put the cover on whichever way u want :)
