i want to get the eagle 077's and i talked to a mechanic and he said that 17 in rims would totally throw my car off such as in my alignmentand would where ur tires alot faster is this true and if it is...is there ne way to fix it??

i have not heard anything like that before about going bigger. All i know is that your speedo will read slower than what you really are going but only by like 1/2 mph. so nothing really significant. wearing the tires, i doubt that. The only real affect that i can see happening from larger rims and tires is that the speedo will be a bit off, (but w/ 17" i not even noticable) and that they might rub on the wheel well, but 17" wont as long as you get the right size tire.

changing tires CAN throw off alignment.... does it all the time NO. but if it throws it off get the alignment done its that simple. If the alignment is off it will wear your tires faster but the simple fact of having 17's on your car will not wear your tires faster. You will have to visit a tire calculator or go to a dealer that knows what they are doing but i believe with 17's you need a 45 series tire to keep the same overall diameter of your tire. Double check on that.
