What have you done to your car to run a 16.5??? I doubt a stock 3300 could do that...

I dont. With my first 93 Ga, all I did was replace my
trany and torque converter with one from a cavi
and I was runing mid 16's.
Its not hard to get more power out
of our engines.
U just have to be a bit creative since theres no
real after market mods.
In my current Grand am, I have Jet chip, custom CAI, A massive tune up
every spring including plugs, wires, pvc, and %100 sin Oil.
and I have no problem taking on 3400 GA's.
But ... lol.. geting back to the orignal question.
No turbos for our cars, Again just have to be creative and custom fab one

I don't doubt the 16.5 ET, but I do doubt the 90 MPH trap speed... that should be at least low 15 sec ET's.

True, i run 14.9's at 90-93 mph traps.

It must be cuz our 3300's are slow off of the line...

Mine seems to be ok as long as I stay on the gas throughout. If I'm doing 50 or so and stomp it, it goes no where. A 99+ GT took me this way. Better tranny in the newer GT.

yeah at 50 it wont downshift to 1st, so we get like 3200 rpms... 50-70 is slow...
i think the best acceleration is revving her to about 3500 rpms where we can ride the huge torque curve. i mean even if we floor it when it shifts it goes back to 3500 rpms anyway...
I gots a ? for ya tho... What were some of the signs that your tranny was taking a dump??? Cuz i have over 158,000 on my original tranny now. I would say that about 100,000 of those miles are highway since my dad had 60 mile commutes to work... There are no problems she shifts great, downshifts fine and everything, we have had the tranny fluid flushed 3 times. The last time i did it myself and the fluid looked good and no shavings in the pan. The only concern i have is that some times on the highway going 80 and flooring it she downshifts to 2nd, but there is a noticable CLUNCK... But she does kick like 4500 rpms...It doesnt do it everytime, i have only noticed it 3 times... Is that something to be concerned about???
