I broke a rim a few weeks ago on a pot hole, and they aren't made anymore so I'll never find a replacement. I just bought 4 new 15" steel rims, and was wondering how 225/65/15s would work on my car. Its an SE, but it has the GT kit on it. Stock springs.

Would these tires be too big? Would they rub on the inside?

I know stock size is 215/60/15, so 225/65/15 shouldn't be too much worse. Thanks.

*edit* Nevermind, after looking around I can't even find that tire size. What could I get that is a little wider and taller than the stock size, but wouldn't rub or anything?

No they shouldn't rub at all.

Ah, I should have checked my tire. I recently bought one "stock size" and instead they gave me 205/60/15. I didn't like the way it didn't stick out over the sides of the rim. 215/60/15s are perfect. They're the same size as the 17's I had before.

This thread can be deleted if the mods want.

... the new tire isn't sufficiently taller to cause rubbing but your speedometer will be off a little ... using the tire calculator (http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html), when you are travelling 60 MPH you will actually be doing 61.1 MPH

I've had them for at least 6 months now, and haven't even been able to find center caps for them. I'll just stick with my black steel rims for now. I might not even have the GA anymore in a couple of weeks. She's literally falling apart on me. :(

There are several companies that will repair your wheel. I had asked the guy here in Albany about costs for a stock wheel and it was more than I could get a used one for but if you cannot find a replacement, it may be wort it to you.

The only place I could find around here was about an hour and a half away, and I got 4 new rims and tires for about $120.
