Well my Powertrain warrenty is up at the end of May and I was looking to take my 1996 Grand Am 3100 into the dealer to check on a possible #6 Cylinder slap on startup. (An echoing knock coming from the driver side wheel well)
Once the car warms up it runs clean. I was told this by another mechanic that it was because the previous owner of the car probably didn't let it warm up enough in the cold winter. (gets about -30C) This probably caused the #6 piston to wear down a bit. WHich causes it to make a light knock sound on startup.
Now since its part of the powertrain. I am crossing my fingers hoping they will rebuild a part of my engine for Free.
Now this knock is very small and a normal person would probably not even notice it. So I'm hoping they throw me a bone on this one.
Who thinks they will fix this for me?
