I have the black housing headlights (I'm sure most of you know what i'm talking about.... its in my picture). Anyway, i'm considering getting the pilot HID kit - 6000k....its 209 bucks plus shipping, and actually has a hallogen bulb connected so you still get hi-beams.
The reason i'm considering it is because w/ my silverstar halogens, the output sucks w/ the reflectors that are in the housings.
So bassically i'm wondering if anyone has decent HID systems w/ the black housing headlights....I would like to know there was an improvement in the spread of the beam, because I just dont want a nice color headlight, i want better functionality. Appreciate the help

Yeah i have the same setup as GTAUDIOFREAK but i have 8000k lights, Its a big improvement as far as light output, but not as much as it would be with the chrome housings

Yea hids with chrome housing would be awesome, with the black head lights they may be quite a bit better then stock housing with halogen but not as good as they could be

I definitely see better than i ever have in my grand am with them. I keep the drivers side kinda low so i dont blind other drivers but i still see the road good.

I have black housing headlights and the output w/ the hid's sucks compared to what it would be w/ regular headlights

yea, i love the black headlights, so i might just go with the new silverstar ultras, instead of forking over 200 for HIDs. its just no halogen can compare to that color and brightness...oh well...correct me if im worng here

I had the silverstars in my black headlights and i still saw almost nothing. The HIDS may suck in the black housing COMPARED to stock housings, but the light output is still better than halogen in either housing. If you have the money go with both, out of all my mods i get complimented on my hids the most.
