Some people replace the light bulbs and some replace the entire light using a modified stock bracket.

Some people have Hella Angel Eyes which are driving lights and should not be lit with the lows. Some have Blazertechs (I think that's the name) which come in driving and fog types. If it has a clear lens, it's usually a driving light. If it has a fluted lens, it's usually a fog light.

Here's a shot of how I modified my bracket to accept the Angel Eye unit.

I have the Hella's and I really like how much better the road is lit up than stock. Honestly I haven't seen a pair of headlights output crappier than on my GA. I like them, but there is one thing that sucks with glass lensed lights...they will crack! Whether they get hit by a stone, or the are hot and you have them on in the rain, or in the snow, you will most likely end up buying another pair. I have gone through 3 sets, and they aren't that cheap just replace.

Not my thread but yes...I haven't had good luck with them. I've had them crack teice with rocks and once from hot/cold change. That's why they are cracked now and will stay cracked lol.

Ryan, just a thought! When you mount the next aftermarket lights. When you mount them to the brackets use rubber washers -light(stud)/rubber washer/mount/rubber washer/metal washer/nut. This could give your aftermarket lights flexability to move when needed.

What are you refering to when you say to move when needed? Sorry I'm a little slow today.

No problem... To give the lights flexability when..per example, when you hit a bump in the road the shock will be limited thru the aftermarket lights between the rubber washers and brackets.

I figured that's what you meant, but I wasn't sure. Yeah that might help, but I really didn't have any problems with them cracking from that. There are terrible roads up here around Toronto but I don't think that's what my problem was. I know 2 have cracked from direct impact from a rock. You can see the impact spot.

If I ever replace them I will think about what you said and try using a softer washer, that may eat up some vibration.

Ryan, I don't know if this could help too,but go to "pfyc" (parts for your car). They have a "x-pel headlight protection" product for headlights and FOG/DRIVING LIGHTS. This sounds like something you could use for your problem!

Hella makes the Optilux Angel Eye Fog/Driving Lights. It's a lamp that has two outer LED's for a light ring and a 55w Halogen bulb for street lighting. Go to Hella's web site for more info.

i see. so really my question has not been answered what fog light works best

mine have been burnt out for a year and i though abuot going and putting in the 885 bulb and if it burns them who cares i can just go buy some aftermarket ones and put em there...

Aero...Just what gagt said...Hella is the company. Angeleyes are just an led ring that glows around the outeredge of the light. Look at my signature. That's what it looks like. This part lights up seperate from the bulb itself.

Anything with an H3 bulb (usually 55watts) will be more than enough. The round 4" fog/driving lights look most appealing/stock, and are easily mounted on the GAs. That's why people use them. Tenspeed gave you 2 options...Hella angeleys or Blazertechs...choose one

Aaron, with differences between aftermarket lights it's all about cost, size(will it fit in the hole in the body and like tenspeed-modding the bracket),etc. And,what you'll need to understand is do you want a fog light (amber/yellow color lens) to see thru fog-which I know that you get thick fog off Lake Ontario. Or, do I want clear lens just for driving-driving light! You'll have to figure that out-what you really want!

i just basically want a fog light for just driving just for the additonal support of light.

Totally understand what you want and need. I'd shop around,do you have a aftermarket/high performance store around you? We have in Western N.Y/Buffalo a shop named "K&S Auto", they got all sorts of driving/fog lights-and if they don't have it they will order them for you.

dude, for a quick fix go to walmart and grab a $20 pair. i got the round 4" (i think 4) and its Optronics ' platinum burners series with a 55 watt halogen bulb. bright as hell and look good. eventually, maybe tomorrow i will try to mount them in the stock spot but for now they are hooked up beside the stocks in the front bumper through a different toggle. but i think they work good and look good especially for $20

Great~ Man~~
Do you have more detail info about this "K&S Auto"?! like address, website (I tried to search this name through Google... not getting any luck) etc.

Cause I live in Toronto too, and it's not a long trip to Buffalo~

and.. BTW, if I bought the fog light set in the store, will they install for me?! I read threads these days about replacing/modding the fog light in the GAs. It seems this is not a simple job for an ordinary driver to do in off-hours.

I dout that they will install it for you. Maybe a shop of some sort could though

Get some Blazers and slap in a 880 HID kit in there.

Projector fogs FTW.
