It's a '07 Chevrolet Cobalt but with a Ecotec that ran a 7.45 seconds at 187mph! Bruno Racing-Father and Son Team. The Ecotec displaces 135 cubic inchs and runs a giant 76mm Turbonetics turbo. Pick-up a DRAG RACER mag. for March '07 to read more detail of Ecotec engine and drag car.

Still not as fast as Lingenfleter's Ecotec. A record breaking run of 6.98 IIRC, first FWD into the 6s. It was also the run that took his life. John Lingenfelter was the man. Took a domestic FWD four banger and beat the import guys at their own game.

I agree, but my thoughts are with anyone that is even willing to take a four banger...Ecotec...and build a powertrain to go against V8's. That alone is taking the tough road to success in a field with bigger and more powerful engines! My hat is off to these guys who just want to be different!

I loved it! To hear that Lingenfelter took a domestic Chevy and whipped the import boys.... I about cried.

They told him 6's were impossible. John laughed.
