Hey all,

Is there a site where it shows step by step on how to install a CAI for a 2002 gagt? I searched but couldn't find a detailed site...

Thanks!

Cold Air Intake is the generic name for a system of tubing and filter that replaces the standard air intake system.

CAI's are actually 'kits of parts' assembled by various aftermarket manufacturers.
Each manufacturer made his own design, used his own parts, adn has his own detailed instructions of how to install HIS kit.

True, they all look (and generally are) very similar, and the installations are quite similar.
That's because the 'design goals' of getting cold filtered air to the intake are identical for each manufacturer, and there's really only one optimal way to do it.

Find a manufacturer hwo's offering a kit that you'ld like to buy, and contact him via the website.
Most 'kit' manufacturers have a free 'Installation Guide' availble for prospective customers, so the customer can fully comprehend the work involved of installing the kit.

But as to a generic "How to Install a CAI kit in a Grand Am", I doubt you'll find one.
Who would take the time to write such a guide, for no profit??

Some ricer performance magazines occasionally publish articles for the kits that fit Hondas.
The steps involved in a GA CAI install are gonna be quite similar, so mebbe you could contact one of those mags for a previous article.

Mebbe somebody at GAGT has seen an article forCAI's for the '99+ GA's, I dunno.

did you already buy a cai and have it waiting to install it, or are you looking for the easiest one to install or what?

a little bit more info, and we'll have you rolling in no time.

Perfect,

I just received my CAI... just waiting for the weather to subside a bit.

Do you have to remove the headlight to install a CAI. They took it out in the video on YouTube for the MPR kit. Is it also possible to do the install with taking the wheel off??

Sorry for the thread revival.

the headlight makes it easier, but it isn't necessary. taking the wheel is necessary iirc, but that only takes like 5 min with a jack and stand.
