My vinyl is chipping and cracking on my car, so I wanted to remove all of the current stuff and start with a new design. What is the best way to remove this stuff with out hurting the paint?

I use this stuff called "Sticker Shock" I got it at Auto Zone.. People say use Goo Gone.. But I don't trust it after the way it ate away at my old cars paint

Hair dryer helps too.
Whatever you do do not use one of those decal eraser wheels on the plastic lower body cladding, it will melt it, ask Bic.

heat gun and plastic razor blade. it will come off no problem. Also when you remove all those grafics be ready to buff the car since you mostly will have two different shades of paint (depending on how long they were on the car)
Also, this is just my preference, i would take them off and leave them off.

I'll try some of that sticker shock, a hair dryer, and a plastic razorblade. I actually really like the design I have on there now, but I want something different. Plus I am going to be putting my new body kit on.

Ok I took all of the green vinyl off without much of a problem. However the grey stuff on the hood is all cracked up and it's coming off in really tiny pieces. What would be best to get that stuff off I have been using this sticker remover I bought from autozone with plastic razor blade and it worked good for the green, but when I used it on the grey it broke.

My nephew is a professional auto detailer and he does the fleet of police cars too. Those large graphics can be a bitch to remove. But I remember him saying something about using a heat gun and using a monofilament fishing line with a back 'n forth "sawing motion" to remove large graphics and decals.
I guess it takes a couple people... one works the fishing line sawing motion, and the other helper pulls constantly on the decal at the same time the fishing line guy "saws" the decal.
Then Goo-Gone for any residual adhesive or sticky residue. I've never knew Goo-Gone to harm paint neither; I can't understand why it ruined somebody's paint (mentioned in a reply above). Maybe the paint was already in a rough state ????
Anyways, good luck... take your time and it will come off...
