Isn't that plywood? All I'm saying is that finish it and then I'll be able to say whether I like it or not. Hopefully it will look good. I do admire some custom work that's for sure. I personally couldn't go with out a cd player.

i had 1/8 aluminum but it wasn't working and yes i got rid of that top gauge like i was told by sooo many people. the cd player is in the arm rest and i haven't finished the fiberglasswork yet, when i do i'll post it. but i don't think there is TOOO much, there is a bit but i don't think is over the top but thats my opinion.

x2 I like what your trying to do but I think 3 gauges and 4 neon bars is sufficient for the look. less is more :)

Sam, I like where you placed the oil pressure, water temp., voltmeter gauges-really different! Got a idea for you regarding the gauge console. For my Son's first 'Stang where the c.d. storage bin was on the middle console. I built a plexiglas rocker switch console where the c.d. storage bin was and put a neon green light inside the switch area! The plexiglas rocker switch had over 6 switches to turn on neon lights, etc. in the exterior and interior of his 'Stang. I would call this mod. a-one-of-a-kind and looked pretty cool. You could do the samething w/your three gauges and even add rocker switches to it-since you like neon!!

I think to each their own and if you like it great... myself personally Its not my kind of thing but then again no one likes my exhaust and what does it matter what i think? I dont drive your car and again, to each their own :) IF you like it great! Gauges dont bother me because we're a drag racing family and ive seen plenty around cars that we've had (dragsters and funny cars and now a 79 stingray) although i do find it to look kinda ricey and without the stereo it looks like something is missing from that car... probably woulda kept things black or something with all the blue tubes... the white REALLY catches the eye.. but hey! Its your ride :)

That to me looks good, still a bit much but good. I like this one better than yours, sorry. I can't put my finger on it but it just looks right (to me anyway) Maybe it was the neons in the back or the gages going over the head I don't know. Just my opinion:O

Hey I want to install a tach in my grand am. I know where it's going and all, but is it hard to install? Just wonderin.
sammybammy
04-02-2007, 09:56 PM
no not really, just follow the instuctions. i got installation instructions from autometer and they were perfect. that model doesn't already have a tach?

Looks like you put some work into, gotta respect that! I don't mind all the stuff personally, it looks alright.

I think it looks great, but I am kind of everyone else's side, if you were to get rid of, or even hide the neons, it would look a lot better. But, even with them where they are, it looks great!

see i don't care who likes it and who hates it. for me if you have something different, that's awsome and i will give you props even if i don't like it. if you make some thing different that no one else has, that's what matters. and if you like it then http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_censored.gif everyone elses opinions. that's my train of thought.

to each's own man. i just don't like the HUGE 5" tach right in the middle of the dash, just hate that. just need to keep em small and clean. IMO
