My car is pumping water out the input cap sometime. the eng temp gauge is just below the beginning of the red. I have yet to see the radiator fan running, except with AC on. Anyone have any input for this, or advise. Thanks

If your car has an electric fan there could be a short or a loose wire somewhere, I had the same problem on my camaro and just ended up running the fan direct from the battery so it ran all the time.

I have a 89 2.3l DOHC
The fan kickes on at 220. The motor runs at the first line on the gauge. If your getting close to read line these quads just don't like that. I would strongly suggest finding the problem before a head gasket blows or other problems start.
When was the raditor last flushed ?? themostat changed ??

Another possibility would be the temperature sending unit that tells the ECM to activate the fan - on the Quad4 the sending unit is (according to my Haynes manual) located in the thermostat housing.
Check the wiring first - maybe the plug is corroded, or the wires are damaged in some way.
