ok well i say that because i have been in 3 accidents all in the front end and those seem to be the most expensive ones, but anyway im getting the parts in finally from GM, no aftermarket crap here. anyway i am wanting to see what other people think of my mods to my car. i am all go and some show. sticking stock with the look on everything, just trying to keep it clean. i did upgrade to the chrometechs from my old same style non chrometech rims, and changed to steeringwheel mounted controls. but other than that it is a stock looking 02 GAGT with the SCT package from the factory. anyway my other mods are extensive by most people. i have the following, Ported UIM, LIM, 65mm TB, 04 heads shaved .006 in, with ground seats(3 angle), a good valve job, LS6 springs, low mileage rockers, custom pushrods, a custom cam on its way, flowmatched injectors, an AFPR, DHP PT with A/D upgrade, LC-1 wideband on its way, SS coated headers, MP racing CAI, 180* t stat, MSD coils, Taylor 8.5mm wires, autolite copper plugs 1 range colder, brand new roller lifters, Quick time elec cutout, plus borla cat back and thats about it. or at least all i can remember. so anyway my trans is also being built by me at the same time, itll have 3.91 gears and a high stall converter, plus an LSD and a few other things of my own R&D. but anyway i was just throwing this out there to let people know what im up to, it is almost all done BTW, and will be on the streets soon. anyone care to guess dyno numbers or 1/4 mi times, just for reference, the fastest i have ran here(which was very very bad weather with a 5500 DA) was 15.641....with just borla. ill post pics when i can

15.6 after all those mods? What is the altitude of the track?
My wife's '00 GAGT has run a 15.6 at 1100 elivation with just a descreened MAF, CCA w/ a K&N filter, and thats it.

He ran 15.6 with just the cat back.
He wanted a guess what he would run with the mods.
gectek

exactly, i ran the 15.6 with only cat back
and my elevation here is 3300 ft and the DA (density altitude) was 5500 so very bad for times

i ran a 15.8 with only a CAI and a catback borla. im hoping to beat that this year
that is a gigantic chunk of GA you are missing.

its all filled in now with factory gm parts. not cheap, but better than aftermarket, and the hood has a little ding on it, but hopefully the body shop can fix it

lol just busting ya
When is the ETA for this to be done?
gectek
04-08-2007, 12:30 PM
just as soon as i get my cam in and rods. if i measure them out and i can use the stockers for a little while, then i will. im looking the middle of april for it all to be done. that is a big step but ill get there. if the diff isnt in by then then ill use my stock trans until i get it in, but it was supposed to ship out on thurs so i should get it any day. then its on to tuning, and i think about a few days of that and ill be good. then the track.

ok got ya now. With the modifications you listed I'll guess a 14.8 to 15 flat at your altitude.

im aiming for mid 14s at least, the DA here sometimes hits the 1k mark but it depends on the day, it changes all the time

'Keeping my fingers cross for ya.
I've seen supercharged GA struggle to run mid 14s. Sad but ture.

I bet youll be solidly in the 14s and with some drag radials possibly slicks considerin the beefy tranny and be in the low 14s.

Given the altitude 14.5.

DA density altitude what the total effect of the climate has on the surrounding weather, basically how good the air really is. the DA is the same type of air at this elevation, so very dry, very hot and at 5500 feet instead of the actual elevation of 3000

Ahhh that is what I was thinking but wasnt sure.
Yea west TX is the suck for drag racing.

ok some updates on the car, right now the poly mount is finished for the front, the LSD is on its way in about 2 weeks, the cam is on its way to me...here are the specs 206/208 .495/.495 113 LSA, im getting a new timing set as well, my old one was like bubble gum. the engine is out to stab the new cam in when i get it. then its all going back together for the engine side. the trans will have to wait a little bit. thats all for now, except that i got my upgraded PT in and also got my coated headers in. if anyone wants pics let me know now...

Well Tim (Xonelith) ran a 13.99 on his stg 2 MMS cammed GA, with an all stock transmission(I think it was). So I would say mid-low 14s for sure.
gectek
05-07-2007, 05:00 PM
yah i think i was talking to him about some trans options... i say low 14s is my best hope
gectek
05-07-2007, 05:13 PM
also my cam has more lift than the MMS stg 1, and is better designed IMO, so ill be about in between with that, but i am running a highly aggressive trans setup, so i cant wait and see
