I bought a set of the black headlights with clear corner reflectors not to long ago and I'm noticing that the headlight bulbs aren't broadcasting as much light as they did with my factory chrome headlights. I tried at first adjusting them but that really didn't help. I'm assuming that it is because of the black housing not reflecting the light as if it was chrome. I wondering if anyone that has these headlights has experienced the same thing or is it just me.

I wasn't thinking about that before I bought them. I'm thinking about some HID's to help out.

the brand is RACE, they are really hard to find. Here is one site I found that sells them if you find another please tell me.

The part that directs the light out to the front is still chrome. If light reflected off the bottom, it would shine up, not out.

The GA headlights are poor at best. I adjusted my highs up a few turns and installed Silver Stars.

:agree: Your light output should be the same as with the stock ones. If it isnt then there is somthing eles wrong.

What color did you get. The best light output is at the lowest color temp because our eyes see it better. Actually we see yellow the best but our perception makes us "think" that we see better with the bluer shade of white. When you get past 8000k the light output is dramatically reduced.

My light output wasnt the same when i put my black headlights in, and there's definitely nothing else wrong. I put Hids in and they work awesome.

I get my black headlights for my 98 tomorrow afternoon so when I install them I'll check. Although I don't really want to go HID because those bright lights piss me off when they come in my face so I can't imagine sending them at someone else.

Thanks for the input guys, I have some aftermarket bulbs that I got off ebay awhile ago. They worked great in my stock headlights, I was thinking of getting SilverStar ULTRA Headlight Bulbs first. I wonder how those would work?

someone shoot me. there is already a thread about this because i clearly remember me stating that with my black housing headlights there was NO light output difference. you can get brighter bulbs at least.

I know for a fact because i put my stock headlamps in for the winter with the same HID bulbs and a couple weeks ago when i installed my black housings i was shocked of the output i lost:(

If anyone has some time Id like to see some night pictures of your lights shinning against a wall Stock Vs. Black.

Well the picture isnt great and isnt even against a long enough wall, but heres mine with the black ones, i dont have any with stock. I can take better pics if someone has a pic of theirs with stock. But I also have 6000k so it wouldnt be fair to compare a different temp.
