If it's not one thing, it's another with my car. Now, my bulb on my gear selector/shifter went out. I don't see any screws holding the console down to get to it. How do I change the bulb?

it means that your transmission is about to blow. It'll say it in the owners manual

just pop the trim ring up. And there is about 4 clips that hold the PRND321 thing on.
It's a standard blub size. Also the blub may hard to remove. When you install the new blub put some grease at the bottom of your new blub.

GREASE on the bottom of the bulb? RIIIIIGGGGHHHHTTTTT
You don't need to grease a bulb, but you are right on the trim ring. Just pull it up, and it'll pop out. If you open the owner's manual, there should be a page that gives you part numbers for the different bulbs in the car, or just take it to the parts store and give them the dead one and ask for a new one
