Black Headlights??

Does anyone know where I can get the black housing headlights with clear corners for a 2000 gt?? I look at ebay all they have is amber corners. Please help really want a pair!!

Not sure.... But one (un-named) company was fraudulently selling their product deceitly by claiming the product was DOT approved. If anyone believes that, then they must also believe in Peter Cottontail.

Yeah, does anyone know other than ebay where I may find them. I found a pair on ebay but the guy was advertising clear reflectors but he only had amber so I am currently getting my money back . I really want the clear one. Someone has to know who makes them or sells them.

i bought a set off ebay... they guy advetised blk clear corner headlights and he sent me blk w/ amber... i filed a claim...he tell me to call him... and he says, "ebay dosen't allow us to sell those anymore, so this is all we can sell now"... then i buy another set of another ebay seller... ive been waiting for 2 months to get them because they are out of stock and waiting for their shipment to get in

that's a false advertisment, he shouldn't have used the the picture then and that's total B.S. that ebay won't let him sell those. i hope you filed a strike against him.

I will keep looking if not I thougt I would buy the black with amber and buy the headlight eye brows with the blinker windows from customgrandam.com. Does anyone else have these. Do they look good??

if you're going to buythe ones with the amber, why notjust save yourself some money and take apart your stock ones and just paint the inside black. that's what i did. you'd save yourself $200+ and just buy the overlay from CGA.com

Yeah I could do that, nut the headlights I have now are faded and cracked so I still want new ones. I would prefer the clear reflector but I cannot find it. So how does the overlay look on the car??

im not sure which one your talking about. but Highway prowler (i think) had it on hers but pontiac shaped, and DaveC has it on his.

you can't do that. i got my car inspected with those on. i passed.
the statie at the court date sad they were illegal. the magistrate would have let me go . so he had said that i needed to put the stockers back on and the statie that pulled me over was particularly interested in the case.

that sucks in ri you get a ticket and you just have to go to an inspection place within 5 days and they have to sign off on it. No $$ but if you don't get it done in 5 days you lose your registration.

Can't do that here in Massachusetts. Maybe in Schenectady, but not here in this state that has all these strange laws. Very wierd laws here, lol...

Way back in '75 when I had dual glass-pack mufflers on my '74 Firebird Formula 400, I got stopped for having an overly loud exhaust. The cop wrote out a repair ticket and I had 14 days to have an authorized service station install legal mufflers.... Had to have the glass-packs removed and have the service station sign the repair ticket and say he did the repairs. By doing tha, there was no fine involved.... was simply called a repair ticket.
And how they sounded so good too; very deep, throaty rumble. The older guys here will know and remember what those glass-packs were. I don't think they make 'em any more.

^^^^ Update on communication what Jim and I wrote above. I just got back from my extended vacation ( I wasn't home at the time when I wrote onto "your reply") and had to look again how the side reflectors are w/ the black headlights I bought for my '02 GA from xtralights. What the pic. they show is correct! They are not like the oem w/amber (orange) corners for turn signals,etc. The only time that you will see amber (orange) is from the bulb itself when in use!

LOL... I guess I screw up the flow alright; I go too slow, Shadow.. Good thing I'm good friends with the chief; maybe I can get myself out of that ticket; lol...

Lights look great Echo; just fix that rubber gasket so it sits flush and doesn't stick out on the bottom.... I had the same thing with mine too.... I didn't have the assembly pushed in far enough, so the gasket looked like hell. Once I readjusted the assembly, the gasket was flush and looked better.
A pain in the ass to adjust..... meant screwing around with those damn adjusters again to pull the assembly in more.

Katie... you gonna put 'em on your ride again ??? Yikes; watch out for that cop that ticketed you before...
That stupid law is so ridiculous here in this state..lol.. The cops would be better off catching drug smugglers rather than ticketing people for a very, very minor infraction like having no amber in the assembly...

I doubt that the fine would be worse than the first one... In other words, I don't think they add them up to more punitive... It would probably be the exact same fine as the first one.

For the heck of it, every time I meet an oncoming Grand Am, I glance at their headlights to see if anyone has clear reflectors. I've been checking for over a year... I haven't seen a clear reflector yet.

One day I was getting gas and a young guy with a Grand Am pulled up to the next pump and asked me how I shut off my drl's, lol... So I told him about the forum here. I wonder if he ever checked out the forum and if he ever got rid of his drl's ?????

Knowing this state, I'm surprised I haven't gotten stopped yet for not having those damn drl's...lol.

As long as they have reflectors in them they are DOT legal. In most states amber/white up font is all you need, many other states don't even specify a color.

I'm bowing out of this discussion; it's been misconstrued over time and time again. When somebody wants a product bad enough, they'll interpret the law whichever way sounds good, or gives it the impression to suit their needs. That was why I jokingly mentioned Peter Cottontail.

Yeah, those are alot easier to find, its the clear corner black thats is hard to get ahold of. I bought from 3 different sellers, had to file 3 claims, and was refunded 3 times. Everyone selling them doesnt stop listing them once they run out of stock...

Anyway... from the emails I got from the sellers, they expect to have tons back in around the end of May.

Josh, i just posted the link. you can buy those, take them apart, paint the housing and silicone them back together, it's not that hard. there is no big difference then those and the black ones, just the bottom part is black.
