excuse my french....i'm just worried...as usual.
i've been sick(still a little, but going back to work) so i've been off from work, made sure my car was started.

but today i went to take care of some errands.
start her up...and she was ticking!!
as if she had no oil.
she had oil, and the gauge was registering.
i did'nt know weather to let her keep running or shut her off.
but it went away

this bothered me, so i took it to my job and changed the oil.
she's even quieter.

she had a couple hundred miles on her before it was time to change the oil.

should i be ready to save up...or am i over reacting?

You had left the car undriven longer than usual, and nearly all the oil had leaked-down from all the hydraulic lifters.
Perfectly normal to 'tick', evena bunch and loudly, until oil was flowwing well and the lifters were 'pumped back up'.

Now we know that you're not just OCD relative to the car, but you're also a hypochondriac. :D :D

Mebbe you're also a car-ochondriac??

Take care,

If a car sits for more than a day, all the oil will be in the pan and not in the engine causing it to tick when you first start it. The ticking should go away within a minute, when the oil gets up into the motor, if not then there might be something wrong.
Long story short, if it cleared up fast then it's ok.

lol! OCD relative?
what does that mean.

yea it went away for 'bout 20 seconds.
i can tell ya one thing these engines seem like they're pretty durable.

even though i've had her for about 3 months i'm still getting to know her....

so far she's been pretty reliable.

i need my car.
I LOVE MY CAR!
and i'm tired of buying cars.

OCD= Obcessive Compulsive Disorder.

Anyways, the V6 tends to make noise due to GM using the Pushrod engines. Anyways, most cars will tick a bit anyways, mainly from the heat from operation. My exhaust makes a light ticking noise due to the expanding and contracting of the metal.
