Hey,
I just had my oil changed, but the light still comes on. Simple problem - hopefully they'll be a simple solution. Any ideas?

Its a 2001 GT if that helps...

Easy fix.

Look in the driver side fuse box. There will be a bright orange or red button that says reset on it. Hit that.

I'd bring it back but the place just closed an hour ago, and won't open again until Monday. If I'm going to have to do it myself, how do I do it? Do I have to turn the car on while I do it or can it remain off. Sorry, I just like to make sure so I don't mess anything up. Thanks for your help!

Turn the car on and hit the button. It will reset the trip odometer too so it want to mark that do it.

Its not working - I turned the car on and pressed the button and held it down for a good minute. I tried numerous times just now. I tried pressing the button several times in a row - to holding it down for a minute... whats up with that?

Here you go I Coped it from the FAQ's section.

To reset the light, open the driver's side fuse panel cover. Turn the key to "on", but do not start the car. Wait for most of the warning lights to go out, then press the red RESET button in the center of the fuse panel. The "Change Oil" light should flash. Then, press and hold the RESET button until the car chimes. Then, turn the key back to "off", and replace the fuse panel cover. You're done.

If that fails to turn off the light, turn the key to "On" once again without starting the car. Press the gas pedal to the floor 3 times in succession, then turn the key to "off". That should reset the light.

Here is a good read about the GM Oil Life Monitor and how it operates.
