ok, so it's not brand new, but new to me.... deal is sealed, money was wired

1993 Cadillac Coupe DeVille :D :D :D :D

it is gunmetal charcoal with tan leather interrior, 78k origanal miles, 1 owner, in brand new condition, nothing at all wrong with it..... there wern't too many options, as it came standerd with them.... dual 6-way power seats, all the other stuff, has the elctronic climate control, the fuel data system, it will tell you your average millage, instant millage (millage at that second) range (in miles) left on that tank etc.... the gas gauge is neat, it has a digital readout in a number then says gallons in tank (18gal. tank) this car is amazing

It is in Florida, has been its whole life.... Richie (moms boyfriend..... is that what it's still called after almost 15 years?) is going down in 2 weeks to visit his family and he will drive it back, so probally 4-6 weeks it'll be sitting in my driveway, the guy said he'll hold it until then (even offering to pick Richie up at the air port, he does work on older cars and restores them, this needed nothing at all, but he detialed it, he had it sitting in the middle of his showroom)

$4450...... IMO not too bad, this is THE car I wanted, and I love the color combo (even has the gold Cadillac badge option) everything about this I love, I did alot of reasearch on both the car and the engine before I got it, and everything checked out great, many, many people go well over 200k miles with the 4.9 with just normal maintenace.

* the guy said when he first got the car, (he is like a dealer, he got it at auction) it was outside, some kids were stealing some things on his cars, so the wreath and crest that goes on the hood is missing, the 4.9 Port Fuel Injection V8 badge that goes under "Cadillac" on the trunk is missing and the little flip-flop wreath and crest over the trunk lock is broke off.... the guy said he will replace all that before Richie goes to pick up the car.

anyway, here are the pictures he sent me: (had to resize, they were huge)

'93 was the first year the speed sensitive steering (controls amount of steering input depending on cars speed) and computer command ride (change the way the car rides from firm/normal/comfort depending on speed/condtions) and a few other things all became standerd.

'93 was the lsat year for this style, in '94 the DeVilles got more bubble shaped, all new interrior (IMO I like this better outside and inside) this has more charactor to it, in '94 and up until '98 or so, the DeVilles look alot like Caprices' outside (IMO)

the Caddy 4.9 V8 is a strong engine... it is a low-rpm pushrod. only good to 5 grand or so, but it makes 200hp and 275ft. lbs. tourqe, and that is like right there when you hit the gas.... the aftermarket isn't too big (obviosly) but superchips.com has a chip for $250 that will add 20hp and 30ft lbs. tourqe, along with fine tune the engine and tranny (electronic controlled 4-speed) The 4.9 is perhaps Cadillacs most reliable recent engine, more reliable then the NorthStar, although about 100hp less. the car weighs 3500lbs.... so it is not all that slow either. (we test drove a '91 with 170k miles, and it was nice)

the interrior. ABS and driver side air bag are standerd. although I heard in the early 90's the air bags had too much force, so I want to see about depowering it.

and the backseat..... when we test drove the '91 it was sooo comfortable, you just sink right in the seat, but they are very supportative.

this is a crop from the prevois interrior picture, but I made it brighter so you can see everything. on the left of the steering wheel is the fuel data center, right to the right (in that little window) displays how much gas in gallons is left. on the right of the steering wheel (can't see it) is the climate control system, even tells you outside temp. it has a AM/FM/cassette with 5-band eq. but I will switch that out for a cd player... one of the first things I want to do, speakers can wait (plus they are not all that bad) I think it has a 6-speaker system.

Well, sorry for all the pictures, I am just very excited, I can't wait until I actually get it, then I will take more pictures yey

yeah, I love Caddys, I always did, I was going to get one, but the Grand Am came up (as a project car) and just as quick as it came up, the whole plan went away. I love Caddys, and I love big cars (although this is 2 feet shorter then my mothers '89 Brougham) but I will just put it this way, I would rather be dirving this (or any) big Caddy then a small 100hp Honda.... plus this DeVille gets about 20mpg city and 28-30 on the highway.... not too shabby

er... I just realized this, in the title I put "Me" when I wanted to put "My" can a mod change that please? Thanks

damn, in that condition w/ such low miles for the year i'd almost think the person selling it was an idiot. Sweet car. My grandma would love that, she loves cars with big hoods.

well, I found out it has the optional wire wheels that were a extra $1,200 when the car was new.... and the gold emblem package was another $400.... so it's all good :D

Cmnky16.... yeah the car books out around $6k, and a blue one (blue top, blue car and blue leather inside) that is the same as mine (same miles, etc...) just went for $6k on ebay.... so I think I made out good

Shit dude... that is a total G-ride!!! :thumbup2: Looks reaaallly nice. I wouldn't roll a caddy cuz I'm way too white, but if you can pull it off, that's cool.:bandit:

Definately way better lookin than your GA (no offense  ). I feel happy for ya but at the same time i hate you for being 15 and gettin a sweet-ass ride :grrr: hehe

It's like Afroman says, "Roll, roll, my '83 ('93) Cadilliac Coupe DeVille, if my tapes or CDs just don't sell, I bet my Caddy will."

IMO I think the Escalde is what is currently giving Caddy that image.... I just can't see how someone can buy a nice truck like that, put 22's on it and drop it to the ground, but hey, it's their car and their money, and if they have the $60k to do that, then kudos to them.

Anyway, we were talking about it, and I may infact keep my Grand Am, we'll proablly fix it up, but very cheap aand not go out of our way, just get it ready for the road. Becuase this will be my first car, and not being experienced, I would really, really hate to damage the Caddy in something stupid, so we figured, we would fix the GA, then I will use that for a month or so while I get used to driving (alone) and then I'll use the Caddy. But, since the Caddy is a Florida, and although it is 10 years old, the car, besides the miles could be brand new, and it never seen winter, I would really hate to run the car in the snow/ice etc.... with all the salt they dump on the roads (even getting it rustproofed dosn't solve the problem) so I figured, I would use the GA as a winter beater... from Dec 1st to April 1st or so, that way I will not do any harm to the Caddy by running it in the winter, and I'll have the GA.

So, I go to my fathers tomorrow, he wanted me to help him bottom seal the boat or something like that, and I'll mention that to him..... he should agree, becuase today when I told him about it, after we were talking, he said, well it is a really nice car, but are you sure you want to use such a nice and expensive car as your first car? he said why don't we just get your Grand Am fixed up and you can use that to start off with.... so I'll mention that to him, but perhaps the thing I really like is the fact that I wouldn't be driving the Caddy in the winter, I was thinking about that last night, and how bad that would be, plus I already have the car (GA) so I won't be putting too much in it (take bumbers from parts car, paint them black, get car strightened and fix exhaust system, and that's all, it would be ready to drive)

sorry for the long post guys..... can you tell I am excited? just put yourself in Caddy-mode in about 4 weeks when the car is sitting in my driveway and I gave my digital camera :D

yes, the front drive and uni-body design are the only 2 things I don't like about the car...... but like you said, I don't really plan on tearing it up on those types of roads etc....
