just as it says. i had to move the battery to the trunk because my hood would not close due to the suicide hinge. the hinge was hitting the battery terminal

Cool!
FYI...if you ever go to the drag strip they won't let you run unless you add a Switch to cut the power on the rear of your car.
...having said that.... SWEET MOD! :D

Nonsense... get a turbo ;). (The Solstice GXP has a boosted Ecotec, and it gets 260HP. I'd imagine after a few tweaks to the computer, it'd get more)

Very true.
The Ecotec is a very good motor.
Very under-rated.

What if water gets in the trunk??? Is that what a marine battery is about?
Looks good Bic. Is there a gromet where the red wire goes through the metal?

Well you don't have those crappy tail lights on there any more so you shouldn't have a trunk as a fish bowl anymore. :D

unforunatly no. i couldnt get the gromet to fit with the zero gauge wire. it sucks, but seems to be ok now. i dont have a clue about how the marine battery works ahaha

A marine battery cycles deeper than a starting battery. It's hard to push start a boat....
I would remove the wire and make the hole larger. Perhaps a sleeve of copper pipe or a hard plastic grommet to keep the wire from wearing through the insulation. A short there would make the box red hot and set the trunk on fire.

yea well the deeper cycle is better for me with the no door handles and i will have a wall in there with 4 12s in it :)

Nice- isn't the OEM hood a bit heavy though to be lifting in that direction? Planning to get something in CF: OEM, SD, SCT or G-Force?

You think he's gonna pull a Fred Flintstone and tilt the whole car forward? :P

Hardy har. Just curious for when he has to work on the engine and whatnot and opening and closing it. But I figure if there's anything extensive he'll just remove the hood completely.

what i would do is make the hole a little bigger then put some wire loom arond the wire then put some silicone around the hole........as far as the trunk i wold drill a small hole just so it can drip out and paint aroun the hole so it dont rust

Mike not to get too far off topic but is that wall going to be fiberglass? Will it match what you have planned fo the dash as far as a overall 'theme'? Just wondering if these are things you thought of. I'd hate to see alot of hard work into something and not have one thing flow with the next. Or I could be thinking of something completely different than what I thought you told me and be totally wrong. lmao

Seeing as those hinges originally lifted a hood of a early 90s Buick LaSabre I doubt the 5th gen GA hood is much of a problem.

Mike I was thinking you could use a grommet but cut it so it slips around the wire. I know they make grommets big enough for zero gauge wire. Looking good in there though.
